John Mayer "Close" to Signing On for "Music Variety Sketch Show"

At Wednesday's TCA conference in Los Angeles, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler announced that the network is "pretty close to closing our deal" with the singer. "It'll be a music variety sketch show," Tassler said. "It's being developed now." See today's top celeb news photos. Pressed for specifics, Tassler added, "We're looking at a couple of things. "One is it's sort of a pilot. It could be for a series of specials," she said. "It could be just for a series. We're just going to shoot the pilot now and see what we have and make a decision after that." The announcement comes months after web rumors began that Mayer has signed on to host a weekly variety show for CBS. Anonymous 1:13: Marley and Me was a best selling book and translated well on screen. Jen did a wonderful job portraying the real life Jen. It was a very different type of role for her. You may want to take away her dues but she and Owen did a fantastic job. The credit they received for the success of the film is very well deserved.
