Kanye West: Mom Taught Me to "Not Get Hung Up on the Small Things"

 Ferdaus Shamim/WireImage.com Nearly a year after mother Donda's passing, Kanye West says she continues to help him change his stubborn ways. In 2007, the rapper famously declared that he'd never appear on the MTV Video Music Awards after his performance of "Stronger" did not take place on the main stage. He had a change of heart this past year. "Well, a lot of things changed and, you know, with my mom passing ... one of her goals was, she really supported me and she always wanted me to be the best that I could be and not get hung up on the small things," the rapper says on Tuesday's Ellen DeGeneres Show. "So, with her not being here to try and talk me into doing things, I ... just try do things she would want me to do." DeGeneres recalled how Donda -- who died last November at age 58 from plastic surgery complications -- often attended Kanye's show tapings. "She was just lovely, and you were as close to her as I am with my mom," she said. The rapper's interview wasn't all somber, however. Not only did he premiere his new video, "Love Lockdown," he praised DeGeneres for having "really great style." See the surprising star Kanye West chatted up - and more -- at Fashion Week. Hmmmm... If his mom taught him so much, how come he was arrested for starting a fight with a pap and taking his personal belongings, his camera. Sure, Kanye may not have liked the fact that this man was taking photos and filming him, but you just have to get over it, because he's not the only one being followed and having their picture taken. Many stars have to go through that. You don't ever put your hands on anyone, plain and simple. Lets not mention all the other numerous things he's done and thrown a fit over. If he doesn't win an award, he throws a fit. He throws a fit over MTV and says he'll never perform for them again, because he didn't like the setup for his performance in 2007, and he thought he should open up the VMA's and not Britney Spears. Lets not mention his comment, "Bush hates black people," on a national telethon that's being aired all over. And he's done and said much more. Maybe he should stop and actually listen to what he's saying, before saying that his mom taught him not to get caught up on all the small things. I used to like him, but not anymore. A man acting like a Diva? That's crazy and sad. I thought only women acted like that? (I don't mean that in a bad way)

Talk about being 2 faced. 11:27 - what's your deal? what does race have to do with anything & what makes you think it's white people or ex-girlfriends hating? Ever occur to you that Kanye is just not a people kind of person & should just stick to whatever it is he does best? Perhaps keeping his mouth shut would be a good start.
