WHO CARES? Seriously, why is this or this actress and anything she does (always in front of the camera no less) news worthy? Isn't her 15 minutes up yet? If she isn't bad mouthing a show she works for and the hard working writing staff, a movie that she starred in or a co star she works with, then she has nothing interesting to say. Well, you are quite the little hypocrite aren't you?? I thought this was all about freedom of speech. And by the way, you didn't say it was "wonderful to get a pet" you said it is a "wonderful place"...just clarifying for you. And hey, you can say and think all you want...freedom of speech, remember??
And as for your research papers...maybe instead of sitting at your computer typing away for your little "A" in one of your classes you should get out in your community and try and help these animals. And when you did these so-called research papers did you actually interview people who run a puppy mill?? Or did you just read an article about them?? Because maybe you should get to the source. How do you know they will stop breeding...ever heard of overseas??
And is it possible to adopt every single one of these animals from the pound...NO, good luck with that. That's why we need to do away with euthanizing. Find them homes..get out in the community and promote these shelters.
Maybe next time you should do your paper on hypocrites...you would know first hand about that. =)

You know, you don't have to try and debate about my statement. All I was saying is that people need to sympathize with the puppies in the pet store as well as the dogs at the puppy mills. And just because the puppy mill loses one companies business doesn't mean they will stop breeding and abusing these poor animals. And you know it's great that you "believe" the puppies will go to a pound but how can you be certain. It's a horrible situation that will only be solved by the government and we all now how the government is right now.
And as for the pound being so "wonderful", as you so delicately describe it, not all pounds are wonderful. Have you heard of euthanizing?? Now, I'm not saying they all do, there are some in my area that don't but some do.
Also, I am an avid supporter of the ASPCA. And if you or anyone reading this post gets a chance to give back and help these poor defenseless animals I hope you do. We are their voice!

I understand and agree with the fact that puppy mills are horrible and I personally would like to see them all shut down but those puppies at the pet store need a home just like any other dog would. I don't think she is weird at all. She is caring to help animals who need a good home. Not everyone has to have children. The world is overpopulated as it is.

Cool that she believes in rescues and shelters rather than backyard breeders/puppy mills.

Very nice of her. She is rich so she can afford all the vet bills and has a huge home so they can all run around.

For many people it's much smarter to have pets instead of kids.
Only some self-serving an exploitative religious groups encourage their members to breed young and fast - because they need more tithe payers and workers.
