Kim Cattrall on Sex and the City: "Yes, There Will Be a Sequel!"

Carrie and Co. are headed back to the big screen.

During an interview on Britain's The Paul O'Grady Show, Kim Cattrall (a.k.a. Samantha Jones) confirmed they're shooting another big screen version of Sex and the City.

"Yes, there will be a sequel," she told her interviewer, Spice Girl Melanie Brown.

The first flick grossed $153 million after its May release.

Look back at Carrie Bradshaw's crazy couture through the years.

Plans for a sequel have been buzzing for sometime.

In September, Sarah Jessica Parker told Usmagazine.com she wasn't against the idea.

"It’s all about the story," she told Us. "If we can’t tell a story that’s really worthy of an audience, then we won't do it.

"We've been really lucky at this point," she continued. "We’ve been in people’s good graces for a long time, and we take that very seriously. So that’s the biggest challenge, the story."

Cynthia Nixon told Us she has a few ideas for her character, feisty lawyer Miranda Hobbes.

"I would love to see her and Carrie and Charlotte and Samantha all go off on some wild mad cap adventure somewhere," she said.

As for the sexually charged Samantha Jones?

"The sky is the limit," Cattrall told Us in September. "I love Samantha single - she has way too much fun."

As much as I absolutely loved the show, the movie was pretty disappointing to me. It was overly serious in a lot of parts and something didn't quite ring true of Carrie's character. She didn't seem like her old self. At times, the movie was downright depressing. I preferred it much more when the plot was more lighthearted and more of a comedy. Plus, they are getting up there in age. A sequel really isn't necessary.

While I am a huge fan of SATC, I really wish they weren't doing a sequel. I think the movie wrapped it up so nicely. I think it should end on that note.

11:43 - I completely agree. It's one of my favorite shows, and I love the movie. I think they ended it great and another one will probably ruin it. What can happen? Carrie and Big break up(again) and get back together(again)? It'll be too much. We're lucky we got a movie at all and it turned out great!
