Some of you people are just hateful, first of all, It is there child and I dont see any wrong with his name, I am pretty sure the teacher in school wont have to say his full name, who does. and secondly you have people naming their kids after liquor (Alize) somebody even named their kid (SEX), and as for teasing. I personally rather be teased for my name than being teased because my Mother looks like a man, Just image what those kids are going to have to go through.

the hawaiian name usually depicts a story for the child. a story that bonds him or her to their ancestors. these names usually have deep meaning and connects the child to his cultural rights. it doesn't matter if momoa was born or lives in hawaii....bottom line....the blood that runs through his vains is that of his hawaiian ancestors. we indegenious people laugh in the face of westerners who seem to be ignorant and have no foundation or connection to their native environment! so where is your connection?

I can not believe all you people think this name is alright, its not about the parents rights its about the child having to grow up with that name and never quite fitting in anywhere at first because of it. How many of you critics have stupid common names like johnmikejoejimrichsteve etc? Or maryjaneanne? Or stupid trendy names that everybody gives their kids to be hip (ryan, jason, kyle, colin, mackenzie, makaila, sam, ben, etc)? Or ridiculous flowery girls names like tiffany, destiny, brittany? Or names that were trendy 15 years ago? Name your kids what you want and STFU about what other people choose to name THEIR kids.

The only reason some people have a problem with this child's name is because we live in a cookie cutter society. Seriously, before we got here, the Native American's named their children what we would now consider horrible names. Can you imagine a Pocahontas in school now? Or how 'bout Sacajawea? Even names like Arianna get judged now. Why? Because no matter what anyone says, America is a judgmental society. This child is not going to grow up having to write his entire name. He will most likely go by Nakoa, and there is nothing wrong with that as a name.

At least "Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa" is a name that actually means something. Unlike naming your child after a car, city, state, beverage... whatever...

A rose by any other name will still smell as sweet. This is the purpose of free speach we don't have to feed nor raise this child with this unusual name. This child may grow up and decided to change his name who knows but it's so sad when people have nothing else to talk about than what someone names their child. There are so many things we as a country could be focusing on.

It is of the HAWAIIAN custom & culture that a child is blessed with a chosen name with meaning that is fitting. It is very, very special to us. Especially because the person who gave the name took time to research & find the perfect name for that perfect baby. Besides, all the Apple's, Cocoa's, & Peekaboo's were all taken. WHAT MORONS! Why some people allowed to breed is beyond me. A name 40 syllables long and in the end the kid is probably going to go by something short and sweet like pacman anyway. And just because you name you kid ultimatewarriorwolfmanjackdarkknightraincloudspiritman does not mean that the kid will live up to his/her name.

We gave our first born a long name with 2 middles because my hubby and I couldn't agree on one. I think the first problem is that these stars want names to represent the fact that their children are different from others. Sooner or later some idiotic fan will replicate it for their children and there goes the individuality of the names.

I also gave my kids names that I thought were meaningful but I gave them choices when they're school age. My eldest uses one of her middle names in school, Leah, and the other two have their choice of first names or middle which was given to them in case they preferred Hannah and Daniel over the cultural names. I think it's important to ensure these kids think about education and not about hiding from the kids around the corner ready to ridicule and make fun of them. It's my take on that, but congrats to the parents who have every right to name their kids what they want.

Some people are so very, very, stupid. I was married in Hawaii while I was stationed there and the official that married us...his name was 6 names long....all I remember were the last two..Saffari-Tripp. Try to get some culture and get out of your trailers/mobile homes!!
