I can understand a jail sentence for doing something like this but how fair is it that da brat gets 3 years in prison and girls like paris hilton, nicole richie, lindsay lohan, and mischa barton who decide to drive drunk and could possibly kill others only get an hour in jail?? our society today is crazy!

Oh well! Best to be a respectable les. violence is not good from men or women. Maybe she will learn in jail. I hope she gets help, religion, some sense or whatever it takes to not be a menace to society. MC, some friends are better left in the past. loyalty is one thing, but this is stupid.

Who does something like that? I guess when we all get mad, lets crack a bottle on someone's noggin'. The bottle wasn't a fake bottle that's used in stunts, this was a REAL bottle, that could ACTUALLY hurt. I don't think 3 years was harsh at all. Obviously she's done this before and just doesn't get it, so throw her in jail where she belongs, and hopefully she'll learn a lesson then. You just can't go around and shatter bottles over people's heads, that's just wrong. When you have a disagreement with someone, or something was said to you, the best thing for you to do is walk away. At the time you may think you're a wimp, but you're not, you're the bigger person, because the bigger person doesn't get 3 years in jail. She's violent anyways, she needs to be in anger management classes.

The punishment fits the crime. A full glass liquor bottle on the head could have killed the girl, in which case, she'd have a murder charge against her. Stupid, violent people. It makes me sick. Only the weak of mind resort to physical violence. When words don't work for them, they resort to violence. And the "they" I'm referring to are all the bullies out there who use physical strength and aggression to control others. Let this be a lesson to all those arrogant celebs who think everyone is there for them and that we're all punching bags. She's a sucky human being.

To the person who said she couldn't believe Da Brat got 3 years for "a simple smack on the head with a rum bottle," you must have missed it was a "full" bottle (as in heavy) which left a *permanent* scar on her FACE. Imagine how you'd feel if someone did that to you! Lets not forget she is a repeat offender.

I still cannot believe that Lisa Raye (actress) and Da Brat are sisters. Also it's inevitable that anyone over the age of 5 with "Da Brat" as a nickname will end up in the slammer.

I can't believe Da Brat is going to prison, but she deserves it! I forgot to mention a couple of things and I apologize for not doing that, but Da Brat will also have to complete a substance abuse program, get a mental evaluation, and attend anger management classes! Da Brat was sentenced to 12 months probation back in 2000 after she struck a woman at a bar! The woman's name, whom she hit with the rum bottle, was then-Atlanta Falcons cheerleader Shayla Stevens, who was working as a hostess, and who also has a permanent scar on her head! Da Brat's real name is Shawntae Smith, etc.

Mariah probably isn't going to accept her calls; fore, the entire jail would have access to her cell/home number... they probably talked for a couple of hours prior to Brat's sentencing. Since Brat's a serious D, she'll love it in there... might even find herself a Mariah lookalike!
