Mariska Hargitay Suffers Collapsed Lung

 Bobby Bank/WireImage.com Mariska Hargitay, who plays Detective Olivia Benson on Law & Order: SVU, is suffering from a collapsed lung, Access Hollywood reported on Monday. "Mariska Hargitay has been sidelined with a pneumothorax (a partially collapsed lung),” her rep told Access Hollywood. According to Hargitay's rep, despite the injury, "she will appear in all episodes for the rest of the season of Law & Order: SVU." Find out how Mariska Hargitay compares to Brad Pitt! I just read on OK's website that she had a second collaspe lung and had surgery and should be in the hospital until Friday. She is expect to fully recover.

Mariska rules! Yes indeed she looks just like her mom Jayne Mansfield. I hope she pulls through, a collapsed lung (and out of the blue, no less--that's scary!) doesn't sound like very much fun at all! So how do they fix a collapsed lung? Does anyone know?

I had a collapsed lung a few months ago, too. The spontaneous pneumothorax (collapsed lung) happens completely out of the blue, so she probably wasn't doing anything at the time. It just happens. I hope she feels better soon...the experience is definitely not a walk in the park. She probably has a chest tube stuck in her, or maybe surgery to fix it.
