Michael J. Fox has a few words of advice for newlywed Ryan Reynolds.

"Just remember this: If a man says something in the forest and his wife isn't there to hear him, he's still wrong!" Fox said Tuesday.

Reynolds - who tied the knot to Scarlett Johansson on Sept. 27 - was surprised by Fox during a taping of Rachael Ray's daytime show.

Reynolds, 31, ran the NYC marathon Nov. 2 for Team Fox to raise awareness for Parkinson's Disease, which his father and Fox both suffer from.

"I see this Team Fox banner up ahead, and I look to my left and there I saw Michael," Reynolds said on the show, which airs today (check local listings).

"My dad, for I think fairly obvious reasons, couldn't be there at the marathon. I would have loved him to be there, but Michael really was a kind of surrogate for that for me, and to just high five him and have that moment really carried me through.

"I mean I said that I gained 15 pounds in goose bumps alone...and I finished strong," he added.

Reynolds blogged a lot about prepping for the marathon - including worries that his nipples would bleed from friction during the 26.2-mile run, which he finished in 3 hours and 50 minutes.

"Weird things happen to you," Reynolds told Ray. "Thankfully, all three nipples are fine.

"I was really concerned because I was at the finish line two years ago, and I watched these people coming in and it was like watching the music video to 'Thriller,'" he said. "It was really horrifying to watch, and I thought what am I going to do about this? I know you're supposed to put Vaseline on, and some people said if you put Vaseline on if your chest you're going to be fine. I was like, should I wear a running bra? Will people know?"

Following the run, which was attended by his mom, Tammy (Johansson was on the road campaigning for Barack Obama, he said), Reynolds pigged out.

"You're just craving anything. I think I sat down to a 10,000 calorie dinner," he said. "Onlookers were just in slack jawed horror watching me put back two chocolate sundaes, three tuna wrap type things...I had some spaghetti and meatballs.

"I flossed later, and a small child fell out," he added. "It was pretty gross."
