DWTS' Misty May-Treanor Partner: "I'm Just Sad!"

 ABC/MICHAEL DESMOND  Misty May-Treanor officially dropped out of Dancing With the Stars on Monday - and her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, isn't taking it lightly. "It sucks," he told Usmagazine.com after the show. "I'm a tough guy, and I've been around injuries before, so I know what it's like. "But when it happens to somebody next to you, it sucks," he added. "You would almost rather it happened to you. It's a freak occurrence - it had nothing to do with this competition, nothing to do with her shoes. It's a wear and tear on her body from 20 years of volleyball." "This whole thing is really sad, and I'm just sad!" says Chmerkovskiy, who joined May-Treanor onstage for her surprisingly sentimental farewell Monday. As the two-time Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist is set to undergo surgery later this week for a ruptured Achilles tendon, Chmerkovskiy assures Us, "I'll be bugging and texting and staying in touch." Tammy i highly doubt that they were sneakers. they were probably specially made dance tennis shoes. and it has nothing to do with maks. if he really thought that it was a risk he wouldn't have let her dance in them. he's not stupid.

It's all the fault of Maks ... IF he's such a great teacher & dancer ... WHY in the world did he let Misty practice the Jive wearing sneakers on the dance floor??? The rubber soles of the sneakers stick to the floor ... which puts one at a greater risk of injury ... If you're going to dance on a wooden/parquet dance floor, you need shoes with leather/suede soles ... The leather & suede soles allow you to glide / shuffle across the dance floor ... I really wanted to see Misty dance more ... This injury is bad news ...
