Oprah Winfrey to Devote Show to Senate Bill About Child Predators

 Getty Images Oprah Winfrey will devote a special episode of her syndicated talk show to a new Senate bill targeting child predators. The program, which airs Monday and has a TV-14 rating, will show the "extent and pervasiveness of child pornography trafficking in America" and urge viewers to support the Protect Our Children Act (U.S. Senate Bill 1738), Harpo said in a statement. "What you are going to see is going to shock you to the core, but I'm asking you to please not turn away because this is happening in our country, to our children, in the United States every day," said Winfrey, who has revealed that she was the victim of child abuse. Winfrey, an outspoken supporter of Barack Obama, has not backed away from political engagement. In 1991, she testified before a congressional committee regarding a national database of convicted child abusers that was later signed into effect. If any person needs to get there rocks off touching children they should be shot no amount of jail time will fix there sickness. Iam a mother that teaches my childern that no one should touch there private parts I am very open with my kids on the fact that there are very sick people out there that do very bad things to kids that does not make me a bad parent it makes me a smart one god never entened for our children to be prey to sick baby rapers. Pass this bill and help protect our children.

Politics or No Politics, the fact of the matter is that preditors do exist. We as parents and anyone elsa that has a heart needs to become the voice for these children. Those who are so quick to judge or point the fingers of why this subject has arised should be ashamed of themselves. I could careless who becomes the next President. "whether it is for rating ,Obama, or what ever! these kids need all thye help they can get.here in indiana if you are a child molestor you get nothing more than a slap on the wrist and in a case i know about a man molested a 11yr old and now is going to try to get visitations to his daughter that is 11 and has not seen him since she was 3yrs. gee doesn't take a rocket sciencist to realize why he wants to see her. also in indiana if you are a molestor you can get as far behind in child support as you want because they will not send them back to jail for it , but they will send other people. go figure. what i am saying is we should leave all the bickering a side and pull together for these kid before child molesting becomes legal."

I am very Happy that you had this show, I was victimzed by a preadator Whan I was in 3rd grade, and never told anyone, not my Mom or Dad, I new I would get in trouble because I was the one that let it happen. I just learned that my sister was to we are both in are 40's so if we did not tell LOOK HOW MANY OTHER KIDS ARE OUT THERE! I think this was a GREAT show. Evertone should vote, I am going to tell all my clints about this I work with 5 ladys but we have in one day about 30 to 40 that come in everyday so I will tell everyone of them and Post the Bill so can vote. I appreciate any person that will help get the public to act for our children and against those persons that are perverts. I do think Oprah should invite Ms. Palin on her show and give equal time to all parties. Hopefully, Oprah did not air this show on Predators to promote her candidate for President. I would have to stop watching her like I had to stop watching Ellen after her shameful jokes on a shotgun wedding picture this week.

As a mother of a daughter who was molested by an uncle, I could care less about the politics. The point of this show is to protect the children/babies!! I for one can not mentally deal as this brings back the nightmares, but I am in favor of any legisation that will help protect children. I can say from experience that for all of the innocents who have been violated their lives will never be their own, no matter what age this happens.

Very disturbing show about the internet sex preditors of children. I did not know how this worked. The preditors I thought was strictly photo's of naked kids,etc. Where do these sicko's come from? I've tried to find the letter Oprah spoke about but can't find that information. I want to send a letter but can't find the address. SOMEONE SHOULD CHANGE THE LAYOUT OF THAT INFORMATION!

Personally I find that no-touch sex ed in kindergarten creepy. Why should a innocent child be exposed to that? If the child is molested, she is molested and no amount of sex-ed is going to prevent. ... because she is a child! Sure it can help the child name her body parts and where his body part touch her.. but name body parts already start at potty training. The parents should decide if they want their child to call their peepee as vagina.

I love Oprah. If Oprah ran for president my vote would be dedicated to her. It speaks volume how Oprah really does care about real matters. If you watch Oprah you would know. This show will help parents for warning signs and how to teach their kids about sexual predators. This should not be a political issue all kids should know this. As for McCain making it out to be more than what it is, it's perverse and wrong. Oprah cares about children as should all of us. In this time kids need to be aware of inappropriate touching with all the weirdos that are out today. Our children should be protected as much as we can possibly can!!!!

There is one thing that keeps getting brought up in people's comments that needs to be explained. The 'sex ed' that Obama voted for to teach to six year olds is about teaching them the areas on their body that are wrong for people to touch!!!! You can confirm this on factcheck.org, which shows all the lies that are mentioned in the campaign by both parties. So please stop mentioning it unless you really know what you are talking about.
