Yes, I believe Oprah’s mom should be held accountable for her actions. However, the credit card companies are sometimes just as liable for this sort of intrusion. Case and point, one time my grandmother, God rests her soul, lived with my aunt, her daughter. A credit card company had given this 85 year old senile woman a credit card. Grandma ordered a Stainless Steel refrigerator which my aunt knew nothing about. When it was delivered to the house, my aunt was outraged by what she had seen and demanded that the delivery guys take it right back to the store. My point is, credit card companies tend to prey on the unfortunate and weak, by deceitfully issuing, and then over-extending credit limits to people whom they know can’t really afford it. But in this case, Oprah’s mom (I bet) seemed to have used Oprah's reputation to get her way. If this was the case, shame on her for doing so, and how greedy, incompetent, and foolish the credit card company was for allowing this to happen. But people just remember, parents aren’t always right either; because a decent person/parent with morale’s would have never done something as degrading; and most importantly, jeopardize her childs upstanding reputation in this manner.

OPRAH isn’t CHRIST, or the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT! She CAN NOT save the world and bail out everyone.

Yeah, because thats what our Mothers taught us "You wrack up over 100,000 dollars in credit at a store and we will bail you out" Are you kidding me?! Her mother is acting like a spoiled brat teenager! If oprah pays for this her Mother is just going to do it again. If she did not have the money then she should have never have bought those clothes in the first place. Lifes tough and just because her daughter is rich and famious it does not give her the right to do this then lean on her daughter. I think Oprah should donate the money she would have spent on her mother to a charity.
