Patrick Swayze Celebrates 56th Birthday in Chicago

On Sunday, a source tells Usmagazine.com that his wife Lisa Niemi threw him a bash in Chicago, where he is currently filming the A&E series The Beast. The next day, his actual birthday, he enjoyed lunch in his trailer with Niemi.Crew members also surprised him with decorations and a birthday cake, TheseBootsAreMadeForStalking.com reports. Fans even came out to offer up their best wishes. Swayze — who revealed he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March — has been working 12-hour days on The Beast. "I'm a miracle, dude ... I don't know why," he told photographers last month. See what Swayze's Dirty Dancing co-star Jennifer Grey had to say about his cancer battle. Says Beast executive producer Steven Pearl, "Patrick has an incredible energy. He’s got a passion for life. "It rubs off on the crew," Pearl tells Us. "People are there for him as a person and him as a character and what it is we’re trying to accomplish as a show. It’s a quiet leadership, and it’s pervasive." You would have to be a complete idiot to try to battle cancer while smoking. It really isn't a stretch to connect the dots. Some people still enjoy their aggresive ignorance.
