I wish you a speedy recovery from Pneumonia! I know the statistics are grim with this type of cancer but if any one can beat this you can! You had such a dynamyic spirit on the Barbara Walters Show that it was truly an inspiration. I also hope that your new show does well premiering tomorrow on A&E.

For someone that has been recently diagnosed with cancer, you are a true inspiration. Thanks for going public and telling the truth....something rarely seen these days. As for people who have no sympathy for him, well, there are just a lot of stupid people in this world. Keep the faith Patrick....we need more people like you.

Patrick, my prayers for your healing are never ending. Not just because you are one of my all time male favorite film stars, but because you have brought so much joy and laughter to my being as a whole. I "LOVE" ALL your movies, my all time favorite is of course "Dirty Dancing." I have seen it well over 100 times or more. Their has been many documented cases that have been proven successful that you can make it through this diease, just don't claim the diease and God will see you through the good and bad days. I know you will do everything you can and so will the doctors to heal you of this illness. Stay focused and prayerful Patrick. May God continue to keep you in his Grace and Mercy, always....

I agree, this is not good news.

Manda-P.S. said in the Walter's interview that he believes smoking contributed to his cancer. It's also been said that cancer patients should quit smoking as they have a much harder time beating cancer. He said before he hasn't made any attempts to quit. Don't know if he figures, 'why bother' or what...

BTW... did I miss something? Why is everyone talking about him smoking? He has pancreatic cancer, not lung cancer... so, what does him smoking have anything to do with his type of cancer?

I'm very sad to hear about this and I hope Patrick gets through the pneumonia well. Cancer is indeed a very traumatic thing to live with. I watched my grandmother suffer and die from it. I remember feeling so helpless, wishing I could do something.

I started smoking when I was 13, and smoked for years. Well,through sheer will power I quit and never cheated. But for almost 10 years, I still craved and even dreamed about smoking. Well, this past summer I started back. Why? I honestly don't know, except that cigarettes have a POWERFUL pull and sad to say, seem like an old friend. Please, cut this man some slack.

Ok, say you have 2 year's left to live, say you really want to "live" those year's, say you know you are going to die regaurdless of what you do...why would you quit something that is harder to stop than heroin? Why would you want to make yourself suffer in any other way? Quiting smoking was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I quit 3 year's ago, and still think of smoking often. I pray for Patrick Swayze's speedy recovery.

Wishing him strength to heal from the pneumonia and ultimately the cancer. I hate cigarettes and you'd think he'd have given smoking up by now yet we all know that it is a physical/psychological addiction which can be challenging to overcome. May God's Peace, Love and Light surround he and his wife now.
