I know lots of perfectly happy committed un-married couples who choose not to marry because they feel they do not need a piece of paper to define their relationship. It doesn't mean they are less committed. If married is so great-they why do 50% of couple get divorced????

Do you, now? I beg to differ on marriage vs. shacking up. I think a marriage shows a lot more commitment. If you're shacking up, and it doesn't work, you can just walk away. If you're married, and it's not working, people tend to work harder to make it work, knowing that they have the commitment. If that "piece of paper", as you call it, is so unimportant, why do so many people continue to get married? Why do so many homosexuals want to get married? I remember Goldie Hawn saying one time that she would love to marry Kurt Russell, but he didn't want to, so they didn't. How many other women do you think are out there like that? I'd bet a lot! Shacking up is for fools. And that 50% marriage failure rate you mention - more marriages fail from relationships where the people shacked up beforehand than those who did not. And that's a FACT.

Marriage shouldn't be the solution to an unexpected pregnancy, Ryan has always been a womanizer and unfortunately Reese had to find out the hard way.

She has handled her divorce like a classy woman and she seems like a great mom. She has a good head on her shoulders and isn't rushing into a new marriage. Go Reese!

People give me a break. No one knows what happened in these relationships. People hear bits and pieces and try to connect the dots with inferences and imagination. Of course, Jen and Reese are hurt by their divorces, but there are two sides to every story. Everyone gets hurt in a divorce. If Reese and Jake work out, cool. If not, move on. It's their choice. They should not live their lives for others. It's easy to talk bad about Angelina, Brad, Ryan, or Abbie. It's easy to tell Jen not to feel the way she does. Do people really know what happened what actually happened in these relationships? Was anyone a fly on the wall?

You can be serious and make a commitment to a person without being married. It’s not the marriage that makes the commitment. It’s the people. So whether or not a piece of paper makes a difference in somebody’s life is insignificant compared to the actual lives lived. One could argue that marriage can even cause more problems than simply living tg. Tell me, is 5 out of 10 marriages that end in divorce now? And the remaining 5 are miserable and too lazy to get a divorce.

I've been married and I've been single. Single is way better!!!!

Insecure people like you need to hide under the title WIFE. While a lot of other people can make serious comittment to their relationship and stay together without the piece of paper. I suggest you might as well trying to have more kids to complete your stupid life.

Why are you bringing Jen into the conversation? She did say in her
first interview that both people are responsible no matter what amount
of blame there is. Also Ryan had more respect for Reese than Brad did
for Jen. He tried to blame it all on Jen while he was having a affair.
He wanted to look good so it had to be her fault. Reese didn't have
to watch Ryan run around the world, see a fake family in W magazine
or any of the crap that Jen had to put with. Reese and Jen are both
very classy ladies but you aren't saying Reese's husband had a affair
because she couldn't keep him and Reese is boring. Reese had kids but
that didn't keep her husband from cheating did it? Brad would have
cheated whether he had kids or not. You are just giving him a excuse.
I admire both Reese and Jen and think they have both used good judge-
ment by not rushing into another relationship until they are ready.
Ryan certainly was more of gentleman than Brad was. He at least knew
how respect Reese. 50% of marriages don't work out so it really isn't
rare anyway.

why bring up Jen Aniston? I have looked up to her for years and I am only in my early twenties. Seeing what she went through..I think she was the epitome of classiness and so do most of the guys that I know. Give it up on these girls. They are just trying to live their lives like all of us. Stop the negativity. The world is a cruel enough place.
