Rep: DWTS' Misty May-Treanor "Had a Successful Surgery"

Dancing with the Stars' Misty May-Treanor, who had to bow out of the competition after injuring her Achilles tendon, is recovering after surgery, her rep said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Thanks for all your concern and well wishes for Misty," May-Treanor's rep told Usmagazine.com.

"I wanted to let you all know Misty had a successful surgery on her ruptured Achilles this morning," the rep added. "She is currently at home recovering. Her husband, Matt, is with her."

The two-time Olympic gold medalist appeared at the end of Monday's show on crutches and with a cast on her leg to announce she had injured herself while rehearsing Friday, and would be withdrawing from the competition.

"I heard a pop," said May-Treanor. "I was doing the Lindy Hop. I thought I flew out of control and hit the judges' stairs, or it felt like I got hit in the back with a baseball bat. Then, I just couldn't put weight on it."

"Poor thing," contestant Rocco DiSpirito told the Associated Press . "She was dancing so beautifully. She looked so cute. And then she hurt herself. We didn't realize to what extent. We just tried to comfort her the best we could."

May-Treanor's dance partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy couldn't hide his disappointment while speaking with Us after Monday's show.

"This whole thing is really sad, and I'm just sad!" he said.

I loved Misty. I thought she was really good. I'm so bummed that she has to go. I think that they should pause the show for her. :) Either that or when she's all healed, have her come back and do her jive on a later results show.
Now, I would pay money to see that jive, the way she talks about it.

It's really cool that Rocco & Karina are going to try & do better and to honor Misty, and I do like Cloris & Corky, even though I don't watch the show, I read & see the highlights, they need to go, etc.

It sucks that Bill Murray's divorce was devastating, and it is hard when someone you trust does that, but I'm glad he's doing a lot better with other things, etc.

I'm glad that Misty May-Treanor's surgery went successfully earlier today. As I had predicted, "Dancing with the Stars" did NOT eliminate any couples, but for the moment, Rocco DiSpirito & Karina Smirnoff are the most fortunate of the remaining couples still in this competition. Before the end of the live results show, it was revealed that Karina & Rocco would've been eliminated had it not been for Misty's devastating injury. The judges also felt that Misty could've made it to the season finale had she not injured her Achilles in rehearsal.

Me too, she seems to be a sweetheart,and good dancer (not talking about gold medal) Im sad she wont dance anymore, she and Maksim would deffinitely win .
