Sarah Michelle Gellar Signs On to HBO Series

 Jean-Paul Aussenard/WireImage.com Sarah Michelle Gellar will make her return to the small screen with The Wonderful Maladys, due to premiere on HBO next year, Variety reports. The former star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer will play a character with "a kind of zealous immaturity - like a drug addict with a to-do list," screenwriter Charles Randolph said. The Wonderful Maladys, about three dysfunctional adults who were orphaned at a young age, is Gellar's first TV commitment since Buffy, which ended its seven-year run in 2003. This is a good move for her. Her movie career was going nowhere.Mediocre movies that nobody saw. If,only she could star in something good. Maybe she needs an agent change..again.

I'd say from a casual glance this is a step down from her movie career. But perhaps she's looking for an Emmy nod? I don't know, even the successful HBO and Showtime shows the stars don't get that much money, just acclaim and such. I'd rather she try to work on a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" movie, but it seems she wants to avoid that or at least avoid it as much as possible. Still, good for her for getting an HBO show!

9:24 just has nothing better to do and we'll just call him/her/IT "Posting-like-a-robot-on-online-magazine-articles-psychotic"..this person did it on another article and on several occasions. Maybe re-writing the article makes them think THEY actually came up with the words. Even though half the time they can't spell and F it up anyway. Way to go! Keep up the good job!
