John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin is more popular with Saturday Night Live viewers.

Her Oct. 18 appearance on the comedy show had higher ratings than McCain's guest stint this past weekend, New York's Daily News reports.

Around 15 million viewers tuned in to watch the Alaska governor poke fun at herself, while more than 12 million people watched McCain joke about his "maverick" status alongside Tina Fey's Palin.

Still, McCain's SNL appearance helped the show score its second highest ratings this season.

Palin offered her critique of McCain while campaigning in Ohio over the weekend.

"Now speaking of great performances, did anyone catch John McCain last night on SNLSaturday Night Live?" she asked the crowd. "He was such a pro in those skits there with Tina Fey."

She also had a message for Fey: "We want her to make sure that she's holding on to that Sarah outfit because she's gonna need it in the next four years."
