i can't believe how every one is so f'ing rude to bristol, you all make it sound like she's the only teenager to get knocked up, when in reality you have 13 yr olds getting knocked up every day, but no one says anything about that. that doesn't get strung out all across the media, but the one time a governors daughter is pregnant at the age of 18, she's automatically a slut. you guys do not know ANYTHING about her or her family, all you know is what the media freaking tells you, and like little mindless drones, you eat it all up.

so what if she got knocked up at the age of 17 and had a baby at 18, it makes no difference, she's like every other person who makes mistakes. Stuff like this happens, it doesn't make her a slut. At least she's taking responsibility for it and raising the kid instead of giving it up or aborting it. I applaud her, and her family.

for those of you hypocritical a-holes, take a good long look at your own life, and your own children, and remember at any moment, your child could be the next 'Bristol Palin'. If that happened would you think your child was a slut?

PS-Summer break dates back to when there were farms. Spring/summer kids and adults had to work the harvest, help w/ the animals. Then it turned into it being cheaper. Apparently schools somewhere decieded it would be cheaper to have summers off (No AC bills) Pay the electric and heat in winter/fall. Save in the summers. The summer break is not so the teachers have a break. The schools are saving a few dollars (basically, what it comes down to) Do I think schools should run all year? Yes. It would keep a lot of kids out of trouble. Idle hands are the devil's workshop.

I have never seen such rude comments. I think Bristol is a very strong woman she made a mistake, but she is being responsible for her actions. I'd like to know how many people making these rude and immature comments are perfect and have never made mistakes.

I think IF your first son drops out of high school and gets in trouble with the law for tampering with the breaks on school buses and then gets a choice JAIL OR THE MILITARY, and then your first daughter drops out coz she got knocked up by another drop out whose mom deals drugs, and your other little girl tells Matt Lauer on TV that SHE MISSED A TON OF SCHOOL AND IS HAVING TROUBLE CATCHING UP...whew, what a mouth full and THAT is just the tip of Palin iceberg! Do you think Bristol should live in shame the rest of her life because she had a child at 16? Do you think Sarah should shun her grandchild simply because Bristol made the decision to have sex at 16 and that resulted in a pregnancy? This family is trying to make the best of what will be a difficult road for Bristol and her child. To slam Sarah for being a loving grandparent to a child that will be loved by the Palin family is simply ridiculous.
Unfortunately, teen mothers are a reality in this country. Bristol is a lucky girl to have such a supportive and loving family. I hope she continues her education and goes to college.
