Shannen Doherty is clearing up nasty tabloid rumors, like the one that she was in Alcoholics Anonymous.
"They said that I was so, quote, 'scared of the drink' that I was sleeping on my sponsor’s couch," Doherty told Radar. "Now, I’ve never been in AA. I accompanied my husband to AA meetings—actually, I forced him to go to one—but I’ve never actually gone for myself."
Doherty continued: "Sometimes you can find some truth, a little nugget somewhere, but not one thing about this was true."
Fourteen years after leaving her career-defining role of Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210, Doherty, 37, has reprised her character on the CW's 90210 revamp, which was just picked up for a full season.
Meet the new 90210 cast.
During the '90s, Doherty was labeled a "bad girl" by the media.
"I was exploring who I was as a person and testing my own boundaries and trying to be a normal 18-, 19-, 20-year-old, and I got raked over the coals," Doherty said. "Many nights I cried myself to sleep over that stuff.”
Doherty denied a claim by former 90210 castmate Tori Spelling that she once got into a fistfight with Jennie Garth Garth.
"We never did," Doherty told Us. "I think I would remember Jennie's fist connecting with a part of my body or a part of my face."

"It just goes to show you how people will lie," she said of Spelling's account in her autobiography.
