UPDATE: Sharon Stone Loses Physical Custody of Son

 Mike Marsland/WireImage.com Sharon Stone has lost physical custody of her eight-year-old son Roan, according to a court minute obtained by Entertainment Tonight. According to documents detailing a September 12, 2008 custody hearing, her ex-husband Phil Bronstein "shall have permanent sole physical custody of child. Court finds that respondent [Sharon Stone] failed to meet her burden of proof and denies respondent's [Sharon Stone's] request for modification of custody." According to the minute order, Bronstein is able to "provide a more structured continuity, stable, secure and consistent home that…Roan needs." The judge notes the order is permanent unless Stone moves closer to Bronstein in San Francisco. In October 2007, a judge had ruled that Stone and Bronstein, a newspaper editor, had "joint legal and physical custody" of Roan, whom they adopted. Stone and Bronstein, who wed wed on Valentine's Day in 1998, announced they were splitting in 2003. In 2006, Stone adopted her third child, Quinn Kelly Stone, who joined sons Roan and Laird. OK, it is 8:25 ET, and I checked all the articles included in the "Celebrity News" section. Interestingly, you can post a comment to all of them but the article titled "Lynne Spears: Public "Crucified" Jamie Lynn; "Celebrated" Palin's Family ". One wonders if the USWEEKLY's gatekeepers are concerned with Lynne Spears or rather with Sarah Palin... any input from readers?

Ok, Karma works both ways......it is so easy to judge!!! None of you people has any REAL information about this woman. I don't either.....but, as a Mom, I can tell you that the very idea that someone would try to take my child away is horrifying! Give this family some space to work out the best way to care for the children involved.....and, look closely at your own family dynamics and try to improve those. Good luck to all....

Jeez, she didn't do anything wrong. She's the one who went to court to get 100% custody. She wasn't able to prove that Roan would be better off with her, than with his Dad. All she has to do to get 50/50 back, is move close to where Roan's dad lives. There were no allegations about child abuse or neglect. Roan was not ripped from Sharon's care at all. She wanted 100% because of the distance between the two parents and wanted the dad to visit Roan at her house. The court decided that Roan is more attached to the community where dad lives, and should stay there. Now it is completely opposite of what she wanted, - she's the one who will be visiting. Britney should take heed. You have to give the courts good reasons to change custody.

i thought i read it was because she was moving around and he is going to school where is father lives and it was a more stable enviroment for him to be in instead of moving around to schools. I don't think it had anything to do w/ her parenting skills - the father had a more stable home.

The difference between Roan and the other two boys are that Roan was adopted by both Sharon and her ex husband, therefore Roan has another parent to fight for and over him. The other two boys were only adopted by Sharon therefore there is no other recourse for them unless someone from the outside believes they aren't being properly cared for and calls social services. Otherwise Sharon doesn't have to worry about "fighting" over custody of them as she does with Roan.
