Ms. Miller, your daughter is getting flack because she really is a slut. What you must understand is that sluts never see themselves as a slut. They point to other women who get around even more than they do, and they argue that they are relatively pure by comparison. But it is not reality.

Look, here is the truth. Sienna knew Getty was married. She may have known there were problems in the marriage, but she was also aware on some level that he could be lying or, at the very least, not representing his situation correctly. She was also aware in the back of her mind that good men do not leave their families for other women. She chose to ignore that awareness so that she would not have to ask questions and get all the facts, so that there would be nothing standing in the way of her carrying on with him. She chose wrong, and so she brought this on herself. You are not doing her any favors by trying to whitewash her behavior.

It is easier to understand Sienna Miller's behaviour during the past couple of months after reading her mother's comments. Any normal mother's nightmare is that her daughter is involved with a married man, and in this case an ex-heroin addict and alcoholic. It seems that Mrs. Miller doesn't see any harm in her daughter's very public affair with her married lover. She claims that the couple "were separated for months" but Mrs. Getty denies this and, like most of the public, I believe the wife. As a mother of two daughters myself I think that it would have been far more appropriate for the mother to caution her daughter from public appearances with her lover after the appalling media coverage of their holiday. The ongoing flaunting of the affair, just a few miles from the Getty family home, can only have added to the intolerable humiliation that Mrs. Getty has already suffered at the hands of her husband and caused even more damage to Ms. Miller's career.

Uhh seriously, to sienna's mom- maybe she'll stop getting flack when she stops being a slut.
