Simon Cowell: Ex Wanted "a Different Path in Life"

 Jean-Paul Aussenard/WireImage.com Simon Cowell is speaking out for the first time about why he split with girlfriend of six years, Terri Seymour. "She wants a different path in life, and I totally respect her for it," Cowell tells Fox News. "We will be the best of mates, but I think in relationships, you have to be totally honest. I have always been and I know Terri knows that. “I find women confusing, really," Cowell went on. "When you hook up and date, you're both honest about what you want. I have never ever said that I want children or marriage. I know some people find it hard to fathom, but it's me, it's who I am." Do these stars look better after breakup? He denies rumors that another woman was involved. "There is no one new in my life. I can honestly say some of my best friends are girls, but we're not dating, and that is that," he says. "Forget any lurid tabloid headlines. Myself and Terri will remain firm friends. We're grown ups." Cowell says he is still in love ... with his job. "Bottom line is I am married to my job," says the American Idol judge. "When people moan about being a celebrity, I think 'Oh please, sort yourself out – it’s the greatest job in the world.' "I wake up daily thanking my lucky stars, but to throw marriage into that mix is not right," Cowell continues. Simon is pretty straight forward. He brings favor to everything he touches. I saw one of his shows from the UK for a Connie Talbot. He was sooo taken by her... I saw a very genuine side of him. It was awesome. The girl is amazing. I plan to get my 2 yr old little girl the album. She dances to her from the YouTube video/sound clips. You know I think he would be an awesome dad if he would let himself take that leap. Especially if it was a girl. Always wishing Simon the best!

Probably because you a big A$$. I find it confusing that you ever made it anywhere with that attitude and personality. You'll find someone else but they won't like you that much but they will like you're money. That is what you get when you are a A$$ with money.

I find this man incredibly sexy. I love his accent. I like his honesty, and I bet when he was up front about children and such, she was probably like "okay" at first, but as time went on, sometimes a woman changes her mind and DOES want that marriage and children. She wants the happiness that comes from marriage and children, almost every woman does, and I don't blame her for that. However, she knew what Simon was about for 6 years, and I bet you she thought that she could CHANGE him, which not all men are that easy to change. Sorry, Terri.

I wonder what took her so long to figure out she wasn't going to change his mind about marriage and kids? He was honest about it from the beginning then why did she bother even dating him? I heard on Oprah by Maya Angelou once, "when someone shows/tells you who they are, believe them". You can't change anyone. Regardless, I wish them both the best. It's a tough transition after so many years together. I don't believe in attacking either of their looks, etc...love is more than that.

I have heard over & over again by people that Simon in real life is the nicest guy. I have seen him in interviews, the one on Ellan comes to mind, he was just seemed so genuine. Love him =)
