That's the problem with people- just because we have an opinion and think something is wrong, we're judging. Yet, we have Bible reading and prayer taken away in our schools, the ten commandments taken out of courthouses, In God we trust almost taken off of our money...I could go on. As far as being selfish- that's a braod statement. I don't mind helping out the elderly, or people that are trying to get back on their feet, but I can't stand helping people (no matter what race they are) that have 8 kids and one on the way that just sit on their butt at home and live off of my tax dollars. Wow i'm glad those of you who thinking giving your money to those who don't work or wont' try and get a better job thinks it's okay. I'm not sharing my money.. I work really hard and went to college to have a successful career. Why do you think it's okay for them to take my money and give it to someone who's not even trying? and as far as the insurance goes.. insurance is a privelege. NOT A GIVEN RIGHT! if you just sit at home and not work.. then i dont think you deserve health care because people like me would be paying for it when I pay for my own. Even minumum wage jobs offer insurance. Some of you just really need to think.. if i sat at home getting a check every month and needed to go to the doctor.. would you give me the money to pay for it? Your hard earned money? No i don't think so! and I am pro-choice but anti-abortion. I would never have one.. NFP is abstinence hence preventing conception. The pill prevents ovulation hence preventing conception. The condom prevents sperm from getting a chance at an egg hence preventing pregnancy. Birth control is birth control, no matter what it's called. The pill and the condom and toher forms of BC are just easier than NFP.

You've got to understand, not everybody needs to have a whole lot of kids. So, yes, you are extreme. If you want to have a lot of kids, fine, that's your choice and I'm sure you are providing a great life for them, but that doesn't mean everybody is capable of raising a lot of children responsibly. I don't want more than 4 kids, and that doesn't make me selfish. There just comes a point where a person can feel overwhelmed, and unable to handle the stress of the possibility of another child (yes, kids can be stressful).
Some people don't have a lot of children for selfish reasons, but you can't group all small families into that "selfish" category.

Oh my goodness!! Natural Family Planning is NO different than the pill, the condom, or any other form of birth control!!! Gimme a break! You can't be for one and not for all!!

Assuming you are the "natural planning" women, you have 3 children, not that many, that post was refering to a big families.
If you had a lot, it would be different.

Natural family planning is keeping track of how your body is during your cycle, not about breastfeeding. It means that you are open to the idea that you could get pregnant at any time. You can use it to postpone pregnancy by charting you cycle, temp. and other things and then abstaining during certain days. But there is always the chance of pregnancy. There really is a lot more to it than what you find on-line. And most Catholic Churches offer help learning how to do the charts and what to look for. Our chidren are 9, 6 and 2, so you see you can use it to space your children.
Oh and I am a stay at home parent. I'm very blessed. Not that my husband is making a lot of money, we just feel that for our family the best thing is for me to be at home. It's all I've ever wanted to be is a mommy. No better job in the world! We make it work by buying things on sale, we don't take huge vacations we watch our spending. Our kids are happy and healthy. We are very blessed!
