It is hard especially for a kid to go to someone about something like that... how do we know that he didnt threaten her not to say anything? Thats why parents have to talk to their kids. I tell my son that if anyone ever lays a hand on him to TELL ME! No matter what they say or do he can come to me.

It's really insensitive to write this:

You are an idiot, there are people who have had something like this happen to them & know it happens to others and still doesn't come forward.
It is obvious you never went thru it or your opinion would be different. It is extremely difficult to come forward and talk about things like that. There are many grown woment that get raped & don't tell, let alone the fact that Terry was a child when it happened.

If Terri had spoken up a long time ago, this guy wouldn't have been able to do what he did to those teenage girls, hence, one of them wouldn't have killed herself. So big deal that she spoke up later after the girls were molested by her deranged uncle.

I hope he suffered both in prison and while he died of cancer. What a horrible human being.

It's incredibly hard to tell people that you have been molested. I know because I'm speaking from experience. When you tell people, they don't believe you. My cousin was molested by her mother's boyfriend. He used to make derogatory remarks about my body, but it didn't end there. I can remember one time when I was about 10 or 11, and he said that women with big breasts were sexy. I can remember hating my body so much. I seriously thought about having a breast reduction and all kinds of work done. I was only 11 at the time, but I still wanted to do that. My aunt's boyfriend (on my father's side) used to make derogatory remarks as well and cop a free feel or two. I can remember one day when I was at their house. It was like 5 or 6 in the morning, and I was sick so I stayed with them for that day. He asked me to turn around in a circle so that he could "admire" my body. I literally felt sick to my stomach. It's easy to say she should have told someone, but unless you have experienced it, you don't know the hell. No one ever believes you. A female knows the difference between a friendly touch and a sexual touch. No one believed it until several people started confessing what my cousin's mother's boyfriend had done. Molestation is a horrible thing, and it shouldn't be taken lightly.

But had she told someone, those other girls wouldn't have been abused, and the one girl would not be dead.

if it has never happened to you it is easy to say why didnt she tell someone its not easy it doesnt ever get easy........... good ridance to him and all the other pieces of garbage that do this they will get theres
