VIDEO: Watch Tina Fey Spoof Sarah Palin's Debate Performance On SNL
Sunday October 5, 2008

A winking, kiss-blowing Tina Fey, returned to Saturday Night Live to impersonate Sarah Palin, in a parody of Thursday's vice presidential debate.

Queen Latifah, who played moderator Gwen Ifill explained the debate rules to the audience.

“Due to the historically low expectations for Gov. Palin, were she simply to do an adequate job tonight, at no point cry, faint, run out of the building or vomit, you should consider the debate a tie," Latifah's Ifill said. (Watch above).

The sketch poked fun at Palin, who avoided answering questions by repeating the Republican ticket's "maverick" mantra.

When the moderator asked how they'll solve the financial crisis, Fey's Palin said: "We're gonna ask ourselves, 'what would a maverick do in this situation?' And then, you know, we'll do that."

Aside from Palin's dodging of questions, SNL played on her pregnant teen daughter Bristol, 17, who announced plans to wed the baby's father when Palin was tapped to be John McCain's running mate.

Her take on same-sex benefits?

“I believe marriage is meant to be a sacred institution between two unwilling teenagers,” Fey's Palin said.

Biden, played by Jason Sudeikis said his goal was to not be seen like a “condescending, egomaniacal bully. And I’m gonna’ be honest. I think I nailed it.”

For her closing statement, Fey's Palin played the flute.
