Well.. if it we're truly that great of a show, it would have continued.

MTV is stupid. Bring back TRL, but reconfigure it because as a viewer, I personally hated watching only part of the song. Play the whole song. It's a show about music, play the music in it's entirety. I don't think there can't be shows on MTV, I mean, 24/7 music can get old, particularly since they play the same songs over and over until they're annoying, but make it more even. Have some shows and make space for the music.

I am really really really going to miss TRL, I never got a chance to be on there, but at least I enjoyed watching it at home, so I hope one day when I become an actor, MTV brings back TRL, I want to be on there so bad, the last couple of days wishing that I could of been a rapper and actor in 1993, sometimes I really do wish that I had a time machine so I can change everything, but for now TRL you will be missed.

damn! and i was soooo looking forward to seeing a 20 second clip of the new metallica video on MTV. now what do i do. i know - youtube. DOWN WITH MTV!!! artists should just send their vids directly to youtube or one of those sites. if i want to see whining fake blonde chicks cry about everything, i'll watch MTV. if i want to see and hear REAL music (no f'n jonas bros), i'll find it myself.

well there goes MTV. the last hope for the once great MUSIC channel is finally laid to rest. oh well, i guess we all have to go back to judging artists based on their actual musical talent and not on flashy videos. RIP no talent poser bands. let some talent shine!!!! and good riddance to MTV and the Hills.

This sucks beyond anything I've ever heard! Even though TRL only played clips of the music videos, they had the best guests! I loved watching my fav. bands come on TRL! It's the last show they have on MTV that actually played any music, (excluding the music vids in the morning, since hardly any teenager could wake up early enough to actually watch that)
They should change the name to RTV (reality television)! There's no music left on the station!

Well, not as many people watch trl anymore. They would barely play any videos and the number 1 video would get less air time then the rest. The most embarrassing thing they did is play like 2 seconds of a video during the commercial break. (way too many guest stars and random stupid stuff on the streets of NYC) I do like the guest stars, but too many in one episode. When they used to play videos on trl, I loved watching it and also because it was on in the evening and replayed the episode on mtv2 at night. (in case you missed it) Now it's on so early in the afternoon that a lot of kids are still in school while it airs and they don't replay it anymore. So, in reality, it is mtv's fault that they should end the show. Since they don't play mvs anymore, except for fnmtv ( like it, but most likely will not last long, only airs on fridays and they don't replay the episodes/mvs anymore) mtv should change their name and they shouldn't be allowed to host the vma anymore. I mean vh1, BET, etc... play a whole lot of mvs, have a lot of reality shows, and replay their shows all the time. I like mtv's shows, but how many times do I have to see the same episode of a show. I mean mtv could show more mvs and still show all their reality shows and replay them.

it was just a matter of time. i remember when it really was "live" day by day now its taped 2 times a week. look at the crowd outside now LOL its like 15 people.

it should not be called music television for the simple fact there is no damn music being played.its all reality now and dating shows .lets go back to 1985 when we really played music videos and everyone was saying i want my mtv......

Since TRL was the only show on MTV that showed videos, does that mean no more VMAs? And how will artists promote their music now?

they play like 20 seconds of a song. no wonder no one wants to watch it. no one wants to watch a "star" come on & pat themselves on the back & tell us how great they are & how we need to go out and purchase their crappy album...cough cough jessica simpson

Great, just what a MUSIC TELEVISION network needs, to lose their ONLY actual show that actually plays MUSIC, and not entire music videos mind you, only a few seconds. MTV is NOT Music Television, MTV should be the new reality TV. They never really played music videos, and it doesn't surprise me that they are not getting rid of the only show that was about "the music". MTV is going down hill, all the way down down down. MTV SUCKS!

that's good. Mtv really sucks with their horrible shows. Who watch it anyways? I think this is the reason they are canceling. No one cares anymore.
