Trudie Styler -- who helped introduce Madonna to Guy Ritchie ten years ago -- is hopeful the two can settle their divorce amicably.

"They'll work it out," Styler - who is godmother to Madonna and Guy's son Rocco - tells Extra. "They're both big enough people to become great friends in time, and I'm sure that they will for the sake of their kids, if nothing else."

She adds, "I'm sad when great things come to an end, but they both need to recapture their lives."

The two announced last week they were divorcing after 7 1/2 years of marriage.

Says a source, "They really tried to work things out. They tried for years, actually."

The couple - who did not have a prenuptial agreement - have yet to reach a settlement.

They are reportedly worth around $525 million, with Ritchie having an estimated $35 million fortune.

They own homes in London, Los Angeles and New York, and a 1,200-acre retreat in Wiltshire, England.

They have two children: Rocco, 8, and David Banda, 3, who was adopted in Malawi in 2006. Madonna has a daughter, Lourdes, 12, from a previous relationship with Carlos Leon.
