VMA Host Offers Clues About Britney Spears' Opening Act

 Frank Micelotta/Getty Images British comic Russell Brand won't spill the beans on what exactly Britney Spears will do when she opens Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards. But he'll tell you this much: "She's not serving canapés or doing a bizarre haircut on herself!" he said on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show Thursday. "She's not performing, but she's certainly doing [the show] in a professional capacity," said Brand, 33, who serves as host. Check out past outrageous VMA moments. He admitted he has some tricks up his sleeve for the pop star. "I might get the opportunity to pinch her back in revenge for the trailer," he joked, referencing their cheeky TV promo. "I know at some point I will try and pinch her!" In a statement Wednesday, the 26-year-old singer — who suffered an embarrassing performance at last year's show — said she was "excited" about returning to the stage. "MTV has long played an important role in my career," she said. "How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs?" Spears, who has been nominated 17 times, is also up for three awards for her "Piece of Me" video. Plenty of people will be rooting for her. "She is so on her game and ready to prove to everyone that she is back," Lance Bass told Usmagazine.com at a Facebreaker bash in Hollywood on Wednesday. Why won't she just go away. She seems to be doing better (mentally) now that shes been out of the spotlight and not at the clubs every night, so why not just stay away?!?!?!?!? She's got more talent than most others. She may not have the range as christina or mariah,yet she out performs the 2 in a second. Talent is not just someone's voice, the girl is a major freaking star. Society eats her every more up, weather good or bad. She's more real than the other 2 for which I mentioned (those fools are in an I wishIi was that bubble zone, they need to take a step back). Britney became and will become stronger with her every more. Like her song sings "STRONGER THAN YESTERDAY".......................only people who have lived and failed will ever truly know want Is being said or lived . She far more grown than poeple give her credit for. She's also an ICON!!!!!!! (YOU SO ALL WANT TO HATE HER, YET YA LOVE HER!!!) Thank god for all the real individuals!!!

I LOVE Britney Spears!! Her music rocks and she is an amazing entertainer who HAPPENED to go through a rough personal patch in the PUBLIC EYE. She deserves as many awards as MTV can give her. She IS the show. People will only tune in to the VMAs to see Britney. She is an icon!

I cant wait! britney is back and ready to show the world, 4:14, you are wrong. Britney's horrible performance last yr wasnt her first VMA performance. 1999- baby one more time 2000- oops I did it again 2001- I'm a slave 4 u 2003- kissed madonna. she rocked all four of those performances, one bad performance doesnt erase all of that. britney is a natural performer. last year, people have to realize, SHE WAS NOT RIGHT IN THE HEAD!!! Its amazing that she even managed to go out their and put on a show!! Britney is a professional, she knows what shes doing when shes thinking straight. Now she can show the world shes still got it!! Good luck to her i guess. Its really going to be hard for her to find that nitch since her counterparts justin and christina actually have talent and are doing so well. Then she will be competing with the Rhianna's and Chris Browns. Now Miley Cyrus. I think it will be very interesting to see who will be buying her albums if she comes out with anymore. This last one was admittedly OK but she's really going to need to start showing herself in a better light after these last couple years.
