Nick Cannon and Model Selita Ebanks Engaged

 INFphoto.com Wild ‘N Out host Nick Cannon proposed to Victoria's Secret angel Selita Ebanks in the middle of Times Square on Monday night. After attending the glamorous Met Costume Institute gala, the couple were chauffeured via Rolls Royce Phantom to Times Square, where Cannon proposed with a $400,000 diamond ring as the MTV jumbotron broadcast the words, "Selita, will you marry me?" Afterward, the newly affianced headed to NYC hot spot Butter to celebrate with a small group of friends, including Zach Braff, Marc Ecko, Tommy Hilfiger, Jacob the Jeweler, and Young Jeezy. Cannon, 26, even surprised Ebanks, 24, by flying in his mother, both her parents and best friends into town for the occasion. After toasting with family and friends over red velvet cake, Budweiser Select and Evian (Nick and Selta don't drink so they spent the night toasting and doing shots with water), the couple danced the night away, at one point singing along to Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer." Nick told Usmagazine.com, "I feel great! It all went off as good as planned. I am so happy!" "I have been smiling so much my cheeks hurt,” Selita added. “The ring is so beautiful. I was so surprised." The jet-setting couple left the party at 3a.m. so that they could catch a private plane back to LA that Nick had charted so that he could make a 9 a.m. call time for his new film, American Son. Cannon and Ebanks have been dating for three months. He has been previously linked to Kim Kardashian from whom he split in January. Check out what Selita has to say about her allegedly “faux” engagement: I HAVE TO CLEAR UP SOMETHING…..SELITA ENGAGED? NO WAY I must tell you, everyone thinks Nick and I are engaged but yet we are really not…I had to talk to him after the proposal because I felt he didn’t really do it for the right reasons…it was like a publicity stunt and all..I didn’t to much care for it at all…all I did was hug him and whispered in his ear “We truely need to talk for sure!…Which we did and this is why I’m not engaged right now!
