whoever says that nicks parents are not doing anything for the family here is a statement from johns mom.

PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- The mother of John Graziano is breaking her silence on the highly publicized car accident that left her son in critical condition.

Debbie Graziano's son was a passenger in his friend Nick Bollea's car August 26, when it crashed into a palm tree in Clearwater.

Graziano remains hospitalized at Bayfront Medical Center.

In an exclusive email to Bay News 9, Debbie Graziano writes:

I am John's Mom. I am a private person, my children are my life.

The only "news" I want to hear is from Dr.'s and nurses as to how my son is doing.

During this past week I have been hearing small bites of what is being said in the media, re: my son's accident.

I can no longer remain silent. One week ago 2 good friends got into a tragic accident.

hmmm, as much as i sympathize with the passenger given that his injuries are permanent, I have to wonder where nick got the alcohol.

He looks so familiar. Seems saw him on a celebrity and millionaire dating site called wealthymingle.com. I'll help you guys check it out. What if it is true. That would be great.

everyone makes a mistake and unfortunatly for nick this is a big mistake. i dont think he is the only person that this has happened to, I have lost a friend to the same thing. everything will work out the way God intends it to be My Prayers are with the Hogan family and the family of the boy who was hurt

FWIW, John Graziano is not just paralyzed. He'll need care for the rest of his life, most likely in a nursing home. He registers the lowest possible number of the scale for coma patients. The doctors say at best he'll be able to open his eyes at times. He doesn't respond to light, but does have a gag reflex and reponded to pain. Obviously his family hopes for a better recovery, but that is what was filed in court papers.

I understand what nick done was wrong but everyone is acting like they dont go out, drink and do stupid things. you just have not got caught yet. i admit i use to go out and get drunk or buzzed and drive home but i always went to speed limit and made sure all my passangers had their seatbelt on. nowadays i stay home and drink in my own home i dont drive anywhere and i know i am safe.

i feel bad for john, he went and served our country in a bad place knowing he was in danger to only come home to where he tought he was safe and get hurt bad. but i can not agree with anyone that says "he might have not lost his life, but his life is over" That is for john to prove everyone wrong there is so much he can do still he may never walk again (pray that he does) but he can still drive or murderball and plenty other sports he can participate in and also he can still work. john cant feel sorry for himself and stop life because he decided to not wear his seatbelt that night or even that he knew that nick was drunk and made his own decision to ride with nick and probably egged on the race because come on who is going to act sissy in the passanger seat saying "nnnnnnnnnooooooooooooo dont race him i am scared" no way. each of the guys knew they were drinking so they both need to take responsibilities for their actions.

The boys were drinking on Hulk's boat, so it is possible either way that Nick bought the beer or that it was already there. It's also possible Nick bought it himself, underage or not. The other driver who Nick was speeding with was also charged with reckless driving. Nick's level was only .055, so the drinking itself is basically brought in because his age. The accident was caused by his speeding, on a wet road, going as fast as 70 in a 40.

Stella, Nick's max would be a five year prison term. Odds are he'll receive probation. The sentencing is rather sporadic in these cases.

Rumor is that the seat belt may not have helped John much, that his injuries came partially from the back of his head hitting the back of the seat. I do think the Hogan's will take care of John no matter what, but it looks as though there will be a lawsuit regardless.

I just love Hogan. He's better than...bacon.

He made a huge mistake. At the same time, he should-at some point- be forgiven. He has to live with this.

My question is did the other boy buy the alcohol cause he was over 21 if I am not mistaken. And although Nick deserves the harshest of punishments the other guy knew too wear his seat belt and I have a feeling supplied Nick with the alcohol. It is a tragedy all the way around and Nick has to pay for his role. But I have a feeling the passenger wasn't the "innocent victim" people seem to be making him out to be.

Nick is getting what he deserves!!! I feel so bad for the other boy, his life is ruined. Nick should have to at least pay his medical expenses, housing and help. If for no other reason than because that was his "friend". This kid had it coming, remember the story of how he was pulled over 3-4 times in one night by police and they kept letting him go?! UNREAL! I hope he has to stay behind bars for awhile.
