Nick Lachey: “2007 Has Been a Rebuilding Year”

 Lawrence Lucier/FilmMagic.com More than a year after finalizing his divorce from Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey says he has finally moved on. “I don’t think you can get much worse than [2006],” he tells Extra in an interview airing next week. “The last year has been good. 2007 has been a rebuilding year for me. “I’m learning things about who I am as a man,” he added. “I think it’s exciting. Any time you learn and grow, it’s an exciting time.” Lachey, 34, has also returned to the studio to work on his next album, due in 2008. His last effort, What’s Left of Me, focused on his Simpson split. But no word what the new disc will sound like. “It’s hard to compare one phase of you life to another,” he said. “There have been some great albums that come out of heartbreaking times … my last album. “As an artist it’s our responsibility to draw on whatever we are going through.” Though by the looks of it, the album should be pretty upbeat. His romance with Vanessa Minnillo appears to be as strong as ever: They celebrated their birthdays (they share the same November 9 birthdate) at a joint bash at Las Vegas’ LAX Wednesday night. If Vanessa is so talented then why doesn't she have a job? ET fired her for being a diva and TRL was happy to see her go. All she can do is host and be arm candy. She needs a man to take care of her because she can't make much of her own money. People just don't care for her fake personality. As far as looks go, I have seen some photos of her where she looks ok but in the majority she looks average. Nothing special about her. Nick lost his good looks so he is no longer in Jessica's league, anyway. Maybe she should become a bartender because she's good at partying.

Vanessa is a major talent. Being a VJ is a huge responsibility. You are the host of a national television show. You're working with diva celebrities and have to keep them entertained as well as cover for them when they don't show up, which happens. Vanessa handled her role with spunk and grace. If you've ever been in the performing arts you can appreciate her ability to think on her feet. I think she's great. There's nothing not to like about her. She's gorgeous, successful, and cool. Oh wait, I guess that's why she gets hated on. Oh, and for having sex with her boyfriend of a year on their anniversary, where the paps shouldn't have been...right...

I know that I know nothing about Nick and Vanessa or their relationship but for some reason she just bugs the cr*p out of me! She is so annoying. I just don't get the whole Nick & Vanessa thing. They don't look they belong together. She was/is a major wild, party girl and he was always a wholesome, conservative guy. I remeber her having to be carried out of clubs in NY because she was so out of it. She's loud and crude and he seems more reserved. She acted like a diva on TRL. Most of the NY Yankees wives could not stand her when she hung with Derek Jeter because she was so unlady like. I can't picture him with someone so ethnic, either. He needs someone hotter and with their own career. I don't seem them lasting that long. A relationship is more than sex and drinking and that's all they seem to have. Nick seems to skirt around the whole marriage question all the time because he's not that serious about the relationship. It's only lust not love. Vanessa is known for her oral skills not her talent. She must of felt silly when he was giving interviews about wanting Jessica back as he was dating Vanessa. Nothing is worse than a rebound.
