I was sorry to see Kevin go as he is a very good designer (and frankly I felt Ricky's dress failed and unlike Kevin, it was not his first failure). I don't think Kevin should have been cut at this point. Also, it surprised me to see that the judges could not look past Rami's really creative dress -- he did not belong that close to the cutting floor with such a dress, regardless of color. Finally, in my opinion, Chris and Sweetpea had the two winning dresses. I have to notice that the guest judge is now often a real fashion designer whereas Michal Kors is really a fashion promoter, and Nina Garcia is a fashion editor. So it is good that recent guests are really fashion designers (as opposed to previous guests introduced as "fashion icons.") I would not want a "pilot icon" flying my plane. One final suggestion -- Heidi could at least try to appear not to like to torture the contestants with "you are out!" as it is getting on a lot of folks' nerves.

Ah, Aqua Net, tacky corsages and baby-blue ruffled tuxedo shirts. Yes, it was prom time on the January 9 episode of Bravo’s Project Runway. I’m season two contestant Nick Verreos. Last year, I designed a line of prom gowns for L.A.-based Windsor Stores, so I was eager to see what these designers would do when asked to create the most important dress of a teenage girl’s life!
Sadly, I agreed with host and judge Heidi Klum in her assessment that she only liked two and the rest were “blah.” The dresses were the clothing equivalent of chicken broth!
I was giddy to see designer Chris’s work since his “portfolio” only consisted of over-the-top drag queen costumes that would make Lady Bunny tear up with joy. He ended up designing a rather elegant emerald-colored concoction. Sweet P’s champagne-colored dress was pretty but lacked that certain “joie de vivre.” Cry-baby Ricky’s was joyless. Even Rami’s intricate draping couldn’t overshadow his poor choice of color: deep olive green for a 16-year-old? Not so much, Rami. Victorya’s design won, I think, because it featured a trendy baby-doll silhouette (girls love that shape), great bold color (for making an entrance) and a bejeweled neckline (hello, bling!).
The worst ended up being Kevin and Christian. From watching previous episodes, we savvy Runway viewers have realized that Christian has become a “judges’ pet,” so we knew he wasn’t going anywhere. By default, Kevin was “auf”-ed. His design was all wrong: deep red color, uninspiring halter neckline and badly (un)sewn hem. This wasn’t the dress for a prom — it was for a 40-year-old woman having dinner with the captain on a cruise to Cabo!
