On-Set Car Crash Sends Kidman to Hospital
Thursday January 25, 2007
![]() Eric Ford/On Location News Actress Nicole Kidman was rushed to the hospital Wednesday night after being involved in a car accident on the set of her latest film, The Invasion, in downtown Los Angeles. At the time of the incident, the actress was filming a scene in which she’s driving a Jaguar, trying to escape zombie-like characters hanging off the hood. The vehicle was being towed by a rig in order to give the appearance that the actress was really driving. At around midnight, the stunt driver operating the rig skidded while taking a corner at roughly 45 mph, causing Kidman's car to hit a pole and knock over a garbage can. The actress was wearing her seat belt. Members of the crew immediately wrapped a blanket around Kidman and paramedics arrived to check the actress for injuries. Kidman, 39, was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in an SUV, and was released within two hours. Sources tell Us that Kidman's 11-year-old son, Connor, and 14-year-old daughter, Isabella, had visited the set earlier in the day, but were not present at the time of the accident. Kidman's rep was unavailable for comment. Join Us on Facebook and Twitter for even more up to the minute celebrity news and photos! |
