Nicole Richie was sentenced to 96 hours of jail time Friday morning after entering a guilty plea in her DUI case.

A pregnant Richie, 25, dressed in a loose-fitting black dress, arrived at the Glendale, California, courthouse shortly before 8:30 a.m. accompanied by her boyfriend, Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden, dressed conservatively in a black suit.

The couple sat in the front row and waited for her case to be called. Richie whispered into Madden’s ear nervously.

When her case was called, Richie’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, entered a plea of guilty.

Lubell then sentenced the reality star to 96 hours in custody, giving her credit for the six hours she was in custody post-arrest.

"The judge did not give her special treatment. She is given the same option that any person who pleads guilty to this charge to serve in county or county jail," Los Angeles District Attorney spokesperson Jane Robison tells Us, adding that Richie has to complete her sentence some time in the next 60 days. "She just has to show proof of completion by September 28."

According to the terms and conditions of Richie's probation, she must enroll in a drug and alcohol program within 21 days and pay a fine of $2,048.

Authorities arrested Richie on Dececember 11 after witnesses reported seeing her SUV headed the wrong way down a California highway. She failed a field sobriety test and admitted to having smoked marijuana and taken a Vicodin.

In February, Richie pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence. She had a prior misdemeanor DUI conviction in June 2003.
