Why does everyone take the time to worry about how much money these people have or what they've done-- there are millions and millions who have done far worse and aren't in the papers and tabloids for everyone to judge- We all do stupid things-- make stupid choices-- and act stupid sometimes ! it doesnt mean we are horrible people just human! Worry about yourselves!!!!! how would you like people to judge you because of your "status" and / or how much money is in your bank account! Who cares? I just have a hard time believing that these people think they are above the law. They know they get caught the get in trouble just like the rest of us. If they choose to make a stupid choice and get caught they suffer just the same look at Martha Stewart, and the god so many other stars that have been arrested. Not above the law just played out in front of the world. We all know someone who has been in trouble at one time or another -- were they horrible? no! because the world didn't get to judge them!

Actually, Nicole is the daughter of a MALE band member, not female. He is hispanic (can't remember his name) and Nicole was adopted at somewhere between 3-4 years old, not a baby. Rick and Kathy Hilton are worth some money, for sure, but the real money is with Paris's grandparents. Paris herself is worth about $40MM (via trust fund). Lionel Richie is worth a great deal more money than that. Every time a Comodores or Lionel Richie song is played or sung, played on the radio or purchased (sheet music too!) he gets money; Royalties are a wonderful way to stay rich forever.

Nicole should go to jail because obviously, like so many other hollywood brats, she thinks she's above the law.

I think the "pregnancy" is Nicole's last ditch effort to avoid jail time. But Nicole, pregnant women go to jail all the time. Nice try.

In response to 9:05 SoHott.....Nicole Richie has never been accused of being the brightest bulb in the box so for her to possibly think that by getting pregnant (since she is so gaunt would be a difficult pregnancy which would more than likely require daily medical care)she could stay out of jail....it's highly likely.....ALOT of the youth of Hollywood today have fried their brains with booze and drugs so much that clear thinking is kinda foreign to them so don't expect to much from any of them.

She's NOT pregnant, and even if she was i'm sure she wouldn't TRY to get pregnant just to stay out of jail..that's just dumb. I think she'll//her lawyers will contest and probably bargin down to a small sentence...Plus if Paris is any example, here star status will escalate to an even more Ginormus state...so yeah, I LOVE NICOLE.

Her real parents are the people who raised her. Adoption is an act of love. Her birth parents did what they knew to be best, adoption isn't an act of abandonment. Sarah, you wrote an incredibly ignorant post, and one that I'm sure would be offensive to Nicole herself.

I don't know why, but I feel sorry for her! Perhaps it's because her real parents quickly got rid of her as a child, (allowing Lionel Richie to adopt her.) I don't think it has been easy for her to deal with that reality. (Having money doesn't solve everything.) I know that it would definetly tear me up inside if my parents did something like that to me. I definetly would be emotionally scarred. Of course there is an excuse for using drugs, or drinking and then driving, BUT I am alot more sympathetic to her than to Paris, and her CRAP. Paris has never had to deal with something so heavy.

I wish Nicole the best! I am sure whatever the outcome, she'll take her punishment without the sniveling and whining we witnessed with Paris.
