A source tells Us Weekly that Nicole Richie, 26, teases Joel Madden, 28, about his two-and-a-half-year relationship with singer-actress Hilary Duff, 20.
"She will ask if he's going to watch Lizzie McGuire DVDs or listen to Hilary's albums," says the source. "Joel tells her she's being out of line."

Joel is from my home state and I have no idea what he sees in Nicole. I mean, I don't like Hilary, but at least she has talent. Nicole on the other hand is only famous cause of her dad, and his career isn't exactly doing so hot. Joel could probably do so much better than an underage airhead and a preggie stick figure. It's a mystery to me why he'd want to even go out with her in the first place.

The question is (besides whether this is true or not) is whether she is actually kidding. He might tell her she's out of line because he's afraid it will lead to an argument or maybe he is a little embarrassed having dated a girl that much younger. He's probably afraid it will lead to an argument. It's better to just avoid those things if you know one or the other of you is going to get mad.
