Nicole and Joel may be the pioneers of a new kind of celebrity social awareness...if they were not so well off already, their own child would probably be 'homeless'!!
I respect the ideals behind the creation of the Richie-Madden Children's Foundation and hope that it will be successful. These two show a self - less effort--unlike the Jolie-Pitts, who continue to say they are 'saving ONE child' by raising theirs to be the NEXT spoiled and affluent generation!!
Kudos to Nicole and Joel for understanding that life isn't just about what you want for your OWN child[ren]!!

I'm surprised at the amount of negative posts about Nicole. So what if she's trying to get away from her wild child image? Does it really matter if she and Joel actually end up helping people in the process? They didn't have to throw that party or give these kids a memorable holiday, but they did, and despite whatever motivations you think they have, how can you knock a genuinely good act? I think she meant that it was a "no-brainer" because they wanted to do something charitable and with Nicole being pregnant, it was a "no-brainer" that the subjects of their generosity be children and families as they are in the beginning stages of building their own family. I can't criticize her or Joel. They did something nice and I just hope they keep it up. With their fame and money, they can do a world of good for those less fortunate than themselves.
