Lane Garrison's Full Sentencing Delayed Pending Psychological Tests
Thursday August 2, 2007
![]() Mark Sullivan/WireImage.com A judge ordered Thursday that Prison Break actor Lane Garrison undergo a 90-day prison diagnostic to help the court determine his sentence. According to the AP, Garrison, who plead guilty to vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving in May, will be sent to state prison for 90 days. There, psychologists and parole officers will evaluate Garrison before he returns to court on Oct. 31. The LA District Attorney's office has reportedly asked that Garrison be sentenced to four years and eight months behind bars. Garrison, 27, crashed his Land Rover into a tree in December 2006, killing 17-year-old passenger Vahagn Setian, and injuring two 15-year-old girls also in the car. He met the minors at a party where he had been seen drinking large amounts of vodka. At the time of the crash, Garrison's blood alcohol level was .20 percent, and he had cocaine in his system. TMZ reports that at the hearing Setian's father said of Garrison, "He's selfish. He took no responsibility. He could have come to us the next day and apologized, but he didn't." He continued, "Yesterday was one of the hardest days, It was Vahagn's birthday. He would have been 18." For his part, Garrison, who recently filmed a PSA about the dangers of driving drunk, told the court, "I relive that night every day and I think about the bad decisions I made."
