Zach Braff

Zach Braff Bio Bio

Born and raised in South Orange, New Jersey, Zach Braff is best known for his Golden Globe- and Emmy-nominated role as the oddball Dr. J.D. Dorian on the hospital sitcom Scrubs. But he also writes and directs, most notably on the 2004 indie film Garden State, in which he costarred with Natalie Portman and also won a Grammy for his work compiling the movie’s soundtrack.

Love

In 2004, Braff was linked to pop star/actress Mandy Moore, although their reps consistently denied the two were together. After being spotted together at multiple parties, the young It couple finally stepped out of the relationship closet at a Democratic fundraiser before the 2004 election. Although rumors have circulated that the two got engaged in early 2006, they split up soon thereafter.

Zach Braff's Career Career

Braff’s career curve seems to still be on the upswing on multiple fronts, with his show Scrubs still a hit for NBC, multiple movie projects as an actor and a new project "Open Hearts" that he is writing, directing, and starring in. Braff has also directed several music videos for the likes of Gavin DeGraw, Joshua Radin, and The Cary Brothers, and has done voiceover work, most notably as the title character in Chicken Little. Last year, Braff was featured young adult dramedy The Last Kiss and is currently writing, directing, and starring in an American version of the Danish film Open Hearts. He is also rumored to have agreed to resurrect the classic Chevy Chase role as Fletch in the far-off, still conceptual Fletch Won. Having recently scrubbed in for his sixth season on Scrubs, Braff continues to make viewers laugh and the Hollywood Foreign Press take note, as they extended a 2007 Best Actor Golden Globe nomination to the affable actor for his time on the series.
