Lance Armstrong is denying that he and Ashley Olsen are an item.
"Ashley Olsen and I are strictly friends," he said in Friday's New York Post. "We have hung out amongst other friends, and she strikes me as a nice, smart lady."
(Their actions paint a different picture, however: Us has reported that the pair — he, 36; she, 21 — both booked rooms at the luxe NYC hotel SoHo House and dined a deux at NYC's Waverly Hill after taking in the Broadway play Young Frankenstein October 29.)
Meanwhile, Armstrong's ex, Sheryl Crow is debunking Life & Style's claim that she was disgusted by the May-December romance.
The tabloid reported that, when asked about the Olsen-Armstrong fling, "Sheryl rolled her eyes and said, 'That's pathetic. Ashley's a kid.' "
But Crow, 45, blogged:
"Lance and I are friends. I have a lot of respect for him and what he does in the world of cancer. What he does in his personal life . . . is none of my business. Nor would I ever comment on it."

First off, Lance has endured a lot and is an amazing athlete, fame ruins everyone. Secondly people love gossip and always make the worst assumptions, isn't that why we're all reading this? This week I was told I was having a secret romance with my best friend... it was of course false, but it made it all the way around the club circle before reaching me to deny it. Sounds like the same thing to me.

Maybe she is just a friend but he just left off the 'with benefits' part =p I think its funny what Sheryl Crow's initial response was..even funnier how fast she tried to dig her way out of it. Lance must've called her and threatened to cut off their 'friendship'!!

"We're just friends." Does this remind anyone of the popular highschool quarterback who was caught going out with one of the nerdy girls? Suddenly, "we're just friends". Obviously, Lance was more than a bit bothered by the negative buzz surrounding his latest squeeze. Personally, I agree with Sheryl Crow. What he does is his business. But, it's interesting how quickly he pulled the friend card out to save his reputation. Kind of makes me feel sorry for the Olson twin.

He's not that old! This happens all the time in Hollywood or in real life. What's the big deal about a 15 year age difference?
