British singer Lily Allen, 22, has suffered a miscarriage, her rep tells Usmagazine.com.
"We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage," Allen's rep says. "She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time."
U.K. paper The Sun first reported the news.
In December, Allen announced that she and Simons, a member of the Chemical Brothers, were expecting.
She recently gushed about how she couldn't wait to slip into her maternity clothes.

I am a huge Lily Alen-fan,but what if the rumors below about her smoking a lot are true??
Maybe the baby was saved after all from a mother who would probably not be able to raise it properly?
It is a tremendous loss but what if it was for the best?
I wish them to 'expect' when they are absolutely ready to..
My prayers with her always.....!!!!!!!!!!<3<3

The loss of a baby is very sad so stop pounding her as if she isn't upset enough.

Smoking isn't the best choice for a pregnant women but it isn't what caused her to miscarry. God must have thought that it wasn't the right time for them to have a baby and thats ok.

While it's debatable whether or not smoking "hurts" a developing baby, it certainly doesn't help!

First trimester miscarriage is very sad, but quite common. While smoking anything can be a contributing factor it is by no means the "reason" for a miscarriage. Abnormal fetuses causes almost all miscarriages during the first three months of pregnancy. That, obviously, is why many people stick to the old wives tale of not sharing news of your pregnancy until after you've made it to your second trimester.
Thoughts and prayers go out to Lily and Ed. :o(

What on God's earth would make you feel so entitled to spew forth such hate? Have YOU ever made a mistake or had a lapse in judgment? I would think that she would feel bad enough about what has happened without people like you rubbing it in her face. Women all over the world smoke during pregnancy - I don't agree with being so careless when you have a growing life to take care of - chances are that didn't even have anything to do with the miscarriage, there could be a dozen different reasons she wasn't able to carry the baby to term. We can at least hope that she thinks more next time & is strong enough to give up her harmful vices so that she can be healthier next time around.

I am so very sorry for her loss. I, too, have suffered a miscarriage. I have had 2 in the last 2 yrs. I pray that she will find peace and will greive her baby as needed. There are so many wonderful websites and groups out there for women like us. I hope she'll get the support that she needs.

I too have suffered 4 miscarriages....2 withing 5 months.
It's and aweful feeling but time heals all wounds.

I am very sorry for Miss Allens loss. It is a very private pain that is now out in a very public way. This news is why so many celebrities deny or delay annoncing they are pregnant until at least the end of the 1st trimester.

It's nice to read sincere comments regarding this situation. I too had a miscarriage when trying for my second child. It was very difficult. However, 4 months after being given the go ahead from my doctor, we found out we were expecting twins. My prayers are with you.

How very sad. :-( I had a miscarriage between my third and fourth kids. I learned then it is better to wait until the first trimester is over, but I had had 3 kids already so I didn't think there would be a problem. It is even worse when you run into someone who doesn't know and asks you about the pregnancy. I couldn't imagine going through that this publicly.

I miscarried at 13 weeks gestation. It was one of the hardest things I ever had to deal with. Please hang in there Lilly. All I can say is that you will feel very alone...people will say the wrong things even if they have good intentions...and you will never forget but the pain will decrease with time. Focus on yourself now. You will smile again.

How sad for them! I had one miscarriage at about a month along and it was still devastating, even though I really couldn't feel the baby. Now I'm 33 weeks pregnant with our first son. We're naming him Silas Luke.Hang in there Lily!
