Star Jones is disputing Wednesday's New York Post story reporting that the former View cohost has been telling her Hamptons friends that her 21-month marriage to Al Reynolds is over.
"Reality has finally caught up with them," a friend who requested anonymity told Page Six.
"She's heartbroken over the turn of events," said another pal. "She really wanted it to work, and she thought it just might work, but in the end, it just wasn't going to happen."
Star earned the nickname "Bridezilla" by shamelessly plugging the freebies that stores and companies provided for her wedding. Then, right after the nuptials, on Nov. 13, 2004, she slimmed down in a suspiciously short period of time.
"Here she lost all that weight — and put her job on the line — in order to keep him," said one Hamptonite. "Star has resigned herself to the fact that they're not going to spend the rest of their lives together."
Star's rep issued the following statement on her behalf:
“These categorically false stories and their continuation are clearly being generated by someone for vindictive reasons alone. [Star Jones and Al Reynolds'] legal representatives have been investigating the source and motivation of these boldfaced lies for some time now and are very close to exposing the individual who has perpetrated them. At which time, appropriate legal action will be taken.â€

I have read every post and only want to say that while I am not a Star fan and agree with a lot of the more sane opinions of her (i.e. she's egotistical and greedy) I feel I have to come to her defense in one regard. She did not LIE about how she lost her weight. First of all, she doesn't HAVE To tell anyone what she did and her choice to keep the details to herself is her RIGHT!! Second, she did admit to having "medical intervention." What she would not specify is which of the procedures she used because she did not want to endorse any specific procedure. Again, that was her choice and she had (and still has) a RIGHT to it. She is not my favorite person, but I don't believe all the name calling is necessary. Like someone referenced earlier, she is still a human being with feelings and I don't believe anyone on this blog would like to be kicked while they are down.

I'm not sure what the view is about, I have never watched it, but to throw the race card in the pot in this day and age is ludicrous. if that is the case, why were they even interviewing other black females for the part. Lol gimmeabreak w/ ur first comment. However, I don't believe she wasn't taken seriously in her work because she was black. She was fired because NOBODY, even Barb that hired her, wanted to work with her anymore. She became one of those bridezillas women and treated her co-host guest wrong. She's waaaay too dramatic. And she didn't need to come out and publish a book about how she had gastric bypass, but lets be real, she almost denied having it. And that's a plain, simple lie. She didn't ask Santa to take the weight off. Though I can't stand Rosie, she had a right to blast Star for trying to act like nothing happened. I mean, she's had NOOO problems talking about her weight, pre surgery, men she's been with, boob jobs she's had, why not just be the bigger person, and admit she had the friggin surgery?? I have to say as a white female in corporate America that we all know when we are talking about a black person (Star Jones) not being a team-player what we really mean is that person wasn't doing their work with their head down... they were attracting too much attention and outshining other white employees. It's sad, but true. So, all I have to say is that Star Jones, for all of her nonsense, would not have been let go if she had been a larger-than-life blonde or even an overweight WASP dyke like Rosie O'Donnell (who has made a career out this type of thing). I GOT there on an academic scholarship).
