Las Vegas
Josh Duhamel and the gang play their cards right in the drama’s season premiere
By JOHN GRIFFITHSAIRS: Friday, October 20, 2006

CHRIS HASTON/NBC

The Sin City drama’s fourth-year opener answers a slot machine’s worth of pressing questions from last season’s finale. First and foremost: Was casino boss Ed (James Caan) really killed by a gunman, or will he live to stop more mischief at the Montecito? Will Ed’s daughter, Delinda (Molly Sims), leave her fiancé, Derek (Shawn Christian), at the altar for Danny (Josh Duhamel)? And if she does, how will Danny’s flame, Mary (Nikki Cox), react? Also tonight, bitchy Sam (Vanessa Marcil) is dealt a surprise when she heads to Hawaii to confront a slovenly guest who won’t leave Montecito’s Hawaiian Villas.

Rest assured: This flashy hit hasn’t lost its fun-and-fluffy touch, so don’t look for any major characters to die or for anyone to nurse a broken heart for too long. But viewers can bet on darker days ahead. “We’re going to have episodes that are a lot more intense,” creator Gary Scott Thompson promises Us, adding that one story line will involve the casino crew with “very bad guys.” Until then, the show’s balmy side thankfully remains. After all, guest star Jewel pops up (and sings) in the premiere. And down the line, expect a “really fun” Christmas tale set to Elvis tunes. Viva Las Vegas! (NBC, 9 p.m.)

I too watch this show in the hope that Danny and Mary will get together eventually - as well Casey and Sam. The Delinda/Danny combination is totally ridiculous...

6:37 PM Angela Says:

I hate the fact that Danny and Mary aren't together on this show anymore and he's back with Delinda. What a betrayal of the friendship between Danny and Mary and Mary and Delinda. This is just ridiculous. The only reason I watch the show is because of the wonderful love story between Danny and Mary!!!! I hope they get them back together soon but I have a feeling they won't so I won't be watching.

I love Sam and I can't wait to see what happens with her. I hope they don't put Casey and Mary together, that just wouldn't be right especially since Mary and Sam are friends. I hope Sam ends up with Casey or someone who will give her that spice that she needs. I hope to see her inteact with Danny and Ed more this year too!

10:44 PM Sam Says:

I hope he comes through and reunites Danny and Mary, but I can't say I trust him to follow through with a great payoff for fans. I don't think he cares to finish the story he started--or to reward the fans who bought into that story and followed it for three years.

4:55 PM E! Says:

I'm anxious to see Mary's reaction too. I don't like Danny and Delinda together at all, but I don't mind them exploring the relationship a bit. HOWEVER, it would be extremely disappointing if after all this time Danny and Mary didn't end up together.

4:23 PM Meg Says:

Yeah, Danny and Mary are the best together. I have no interest in this show when Danny and Delinda are having a so-called "hot" relationship. It is forced and just doesn't make sense. The Danny and Mary relationship has been built over time. Since the show moved to Friday nights, the death time slot, the shows history seems to have been altered and made Delinda into the girl that Mary once was -- and still is.

I will not be watching this show unless they bring Danny and Mary back together. The pairing of Delinda Deline and Danny McCoy flies in the face of all the writers have been feeding us for the past three seasons. It is a shame since Nikki Cox is a very talented actress whose talents are completely wasted on this show.

12:03 PM Carrie Says:

Love this show! Can't wait to see what happens with Samantha Jane this year. Hopefully she and Casey find their way back together :)

I think this season looks exciting but I hope they hurry up and get Danny and Mary back together. In all the online polls I've seen they are the favorite couple . I feel their relationship brought heart to the show and helped balance all the fluff. Though Danny and Delinda can be hot I feel them getting together last season was pretty contrived. I like Delinda much better as the fun, single free-spirit and I hope she gets back to that this season. Mary and Danny deserve to be happy together already! I hope Dean Cain can work it out so he can be on LV, too. I loved him as Casey and his scenes with Sam!
