Which Hilton sister staple came first: the legal woes or the sex tapes? The Associated Press reports that a Chicago development group is suing heiress Nicky Hilton, 23, along with her manager Paul Fisher for breach of contract over a delayed hotel renovation project.
According to a lawsuit filed Monday in a Chicago federal court, Robert Falor Investments and Grand USA Hotel Supply & Restaurant are suing Hilton over an April 2006 agreement where she promised to promote Nicky O's Chicago (a Nicky Hilton Hotel) redevelopment project. They also claim Hilton contracted interior design work she was supposed to perform and tried to charge it back to the developer.
Finally, the groups allege that Hilton misrepresented her experience in hotel design. The Chicago project, as well as another hotel renovation in Miami's South Beach, was supposed to be Hilton's foray into the family hotel business (though neither Nicky O hotels would be affiliated with the Hilton Hotel chain).
"Things are not always as they appear," said Elliot Mintz, Hilton's rep. "When the facts surrounding this matter are known to the public I think you will find out that the person who has been most impacted by this action will be Nicky Hilton.”
Not everyone agrees with Mintz. In fact, the developer of the Miami project has spoken out against Nicky and Paris, most recently for the racist remarks she made on her latest Web-released home videos.
"I'm very concerned about [the tape]. I'm shocked actually that she would participate in something like that," developer Robert Falor told The Miami Herald of their strained partnership.
Poor Nicky. It's one thing to forever be in her big sister's shadow, but it's a further shame when aforementioned sibling's sketchy videos and other stolen storage goods cause business partners to bail.
Meanwhile, Falor also claims he subsidized a "lavish" lifestyle for Hilton and Fisher, including a Cadillac Escalade for Fisher, parties for Hilton and her friends and free plasma televisions for both of them.
