Oprah Winfrey to Attend Democratic Convention

Oprah Winfrey will attend the Democratic National Convention in Denver, a Harpo rep told the Chicago Sun-Times.

The talk show host will be among 75,000 supporters expected at Mile High Stadium when presidential hopeful Barack Obama officially accepts his party's nomination on August 28.

"Oprah has not been asked to introduce him, is not expecting to be asked to introduce him and I would doubt that she would want to introduce him," pal Gayle King told Entertainment Tonight.

"She thinks this is his moment. I know that she is planning to be there," said King, who will attend the event with Winfrey.

A study released last week calculated that Winfrey's public support of Obama swayed 1,015,519 people to vote for him. The report was based on sales of books endorsed by Winfrey, ratings of her show and voter turnout.

Factually speaking, the last night of the Democratic National Convention will take place at INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver when Barack Obama will accept his party's Presidential Nomination. While millions of Americans will be listening to a great deal of Obama's speech, TV cameras will definitely focus directly on Oprah Winfrey whenever there's cheering for Obama if she's in the crowd as reported. She'll be like a Broncos' fan whenever they score a touchdown, and the media will certainly talk about her influence and why she didn't get behind a candidate until now with Obama. To me, regardless of her influence, this is the first step towards a November win for the Democratic Senator from my home state of Illinois.

Whether you like it or not, she is racist; from day one she shows a blind and fervent embrace and exaltation of anyone black, sometimes even ignoring white guests on her show (most visible on a show using children as fashion models; Oprah grabbed the black child immediately and gushed praises and baby talk on her, while being cold and dismissive of the white girls). Regardless of someone's skin color or sex, we need someone in the White House who can clean up the terrible mess from the last 8 years.
