Oprah, J.K. Rowling Top Forbes' "Chicks Richer Than You" List

 WireImage.com (2) Talk show host Oprah Winfrey tops Forbes' magazine's current List of the 20 Richest Women in Entertainment. Winfrey, 52, is estimated to have made $1.5 billion in her 20+ year career, followed by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, 41, who has made $1 billion since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was published nine years ago. The only woman on the list with a record, professional housefrau Martha Stewart, comes in third with $638 million. Madonna ranks fourth with $325 million, followed by Celine Dion, who's made an estimated $250 million in her career, most recently with a run in Las Vegas. (If you haven't seen her duet of "You Shook Me All Night Long" with Anastacia, you haven't truly lived, by the way. Just when you think it can't get better than the air guitar, she unleashes the pelvic thrusts.) Finishing out the top ten are: Mariah Carey ($225 million) Janet Jackson ($150 million) Julia Roberts ($140 million) Jennifer Lopez ($110 million) Jennifer Aniston ($110 million) Forbes has kindly excluded "non-working" women (no job? no relevance!) like Barbra Streisand and "old Hollywood types like Elizabeth Taylor" from the tally. They've also included such vital stats as marital status and whether or not they have kids, so you can see how they're really making out in the game of life. And in case you were wondering, half of the 20 richest celebrity women aren't married and 13 of them don't have children. At $1 million per year for two years, that puts her up to $50 million just for the last 2 years of Friends. Additionally, for the few years leading up to the $1 million contract, they were making $750,000 per episode. Add all of that, plus a few films at $10 million per film, and you're at $110 million! So no, the money is not from making movies. It is partly from making movies, but also getting a huge paycheck for 10 years of television. (And I didn't even mention the money she is making off syndication!)
I love how this list bugs HOlie freaks so much. How about this. GET OVER IT! If its such a "Stupid" or "insignificant" list then why care, why bash JA for being on it? Its not Jennifer's fault she made the list, not that she should have to apologize for it. And you can bash FRIENDS all you want. Let's see HOlie try to do comedy or try to come close to the success Jennifer has. I bet she can't.

Since when is how much you give to charity defining how much you are worth as a human being? If I am understanding this logic correctly only people who give and brag about it are worthy. Angelina did not invent charity nor is she the only one with lots of money helping those less fortunate. Most of Hollywood gives but they were brought up right - you don't brag about it - it is not dignified. And just so you num-nuts understand how the world works - their big contributions to charity are usually declared tax write-offs. Jen worked hard - don't keep tearing her down to build up your idol. She is over it - you should be too.

I am so glad Jennifer Aniston is one of the richest women in the industry, what a way to go, girl!
And by the way, I have absolutely no respect for Angelina Jolie, and that has nothing to do with her relationship with Brad Pitt. She is a hypocrite pretending to be saving the world and giving most of her money away, while staying in the most expensive hotels all over the worlds and doing nothing but flaunting her wealth. I much prefer Jennifer´s quiet dignity and she is my favourite actress ever, I personally (and I am a hot-blooded male in the prime of my life)cannot for the life of me understand why Brad chose Angelina over Jennifer. I don´t understand either why people are calling Anelina one of the most beautiful women in the world, have her overgrown lips (which I think are just as unsightly as Lisa Rinna´s lips) hypnotized people? I know Angelina has Brad under her spell at this moment, but I don´t give it more than two years tops before he is in for a rude awakening.

These women need the praise, they work so hard to get the money.Don't get me wrong alot of these women give a lot of money to charities, but they don't talk about it, because it is the heart that gives and not the body, and so there is no reason to brag about it. Kudos to JENNIFER ANISTON, she can choose what she want's to do with her money. Jennifer A is also a spokes person for ST Judes Hospital, and she doesn't talk about and we should appreciate that. DD maybe you should read the Forbes acticle and it would tell you how they earned their money and how they figure out what they are worth. They dont just take the word of a publicst, they use actually documents proving their net worth. Jennifer Lopez makes alot of money from clothing and perfume lines.

I guess all these comments just shows how far women have come. All these women should be commended for what they do, 30 years ago women weren’t making nearly this much and we are now starting to be paid as equals so instead of focusing on petty things think about the good.
