Please leave Paris alone. The poor girl has been subjected to enough vile & mean spirited attacks. I am a 44 yr old responsible adult. However, I can remember being young and making lots of mistakes. If people take a honest look in the mirror most would have to admit the same. It's just our stories don't get posted on every media outlet and we aren't subjected to cruel and nasty comments from people who don't even know us.

As far as "special treatment", it certainly wasn't extended to Miss Hilton. I know of a lot of unknowns who have repeatedly gotten away with far worse offenses. This is a great country but nothing is perfect including our system of justice.

Our government can lie, cheat, steal and we turn a blind eye. The despicable things being done by our highest elected officials are what should be all over the news. These are the people we have entrusted to protect our very way of life.

This nation was built upon that which is endowed to us by our creator. We can be better by just embracing what we know to be good and right such as love, compassion, and belief in the basic goodness of people in spite of their mistakes. It's these experiences that we gain wisdom from and grow into better human beings.

To Paris I just want to say to remember that you are a young lady growing into womanhood with the same bumps and bruises as the rest of us. It must be painful to go through this process under such public scrutiny. But it's this same spotlight that you can use in the future to serve and give back. I have complete faith in you and the woman you are becoming. I expect great things from you and I'll be the one in the front row cheering you on. Well, maybe the second row behind your family and loved ones. It's time to let you go home, you've been through enough. May God bless and keep you always.

Paris Hilton was not jailed for DUI. She was given probation (suspended license) with the requirement to attend alcohol education, but she chose not to follow any of those instructions. To top it off, she apparently thought her court appearance was a party and decided to appear "fashionably late". Total disrespect and arrogance and that should not be tolerated and I dislike her very much for that. Hopefully, just the few days she was in jail will get her off her high horse. Now that she spends the rest of her time in the relative comfort of the medical ward, I am not sure how much she has really learned and will change. We will see. Her latest comments, obviously written by her lawyer, don't mean anything. I doubt that she even has read those comments. I applaud the judge!!!!!! Let Paris have her privileges, but not when sharing the road with others or taking her punishment.

All of you that are saying that this is unfair treatment really need to stop and think. Paris hilton doing time for driving drunk is not unfair treatment. The people that get away with driving drunk should not be the reason that others like paris should not have to do the time themselves. Whoever gets away with a crime like this is someone who had the wrong consequence. My cousin was killed by a drunk driver, also a second time offender. Those of you who have any kind of understanding of something like that understand that this is fair. And to any of you saying that this is not fair, i GUARANTEE you that if all of a sudden someone that you love was harmed or killed by a drunk driver tomorow you would change your opinion immediately so really think about that. If something WERE to happen to your family member or someone you love by a drunk driver do you really think your going to say "its ok thats not a very big crime." So she didnt kill someone...so what! She did the SAME crime as the people who DID kill someone. I guess that just doesnt make sense to any of you who it has not happened to DIRECTLY. Instead of wasting your time saying "save paris" why dont you use your time and save our world or save an innocent life by putting time towards laws to STOP drunk driving, not practically protest for it! BUT NOW they put her into a "medical facility" so that they can give her prescription medication, so that she will get her drugs and NOT DETOX!! HER PARENTS and the BRIBED SHERRIFF are giving this spoiled girl her drugs in jail.

There are many, many criminals who need to be put in that cell, other then Paris Hilton. This judge has a vendetta against the Hiltons and you all are aiding in his actions!

That cell needs to house criminals like the school teacher Debra Lafave who molested that teenage boy. By the way, she is not in jail because her lawyer argued SHE WAS TOO BEAUTIFUL to go to jail and the stupid judge agreede; she is on house arrest!!

Have we heard anyone investigating Sheriff Baca's BANK ACCOUNT? Paris decided to "serve" her sentence at the last minute...and I think she KNEW she would be getting out of jail within days. I think the Hilton family PAID Baca to let her go free. Someone...FOLLOW THE MONEY!

Also, Paris Hilton has gotten preferential treatment from the beginning of her sentencing to her short jail stay. As a nurse, it sounds like she is going through "withdrawals" from drugs. That is why she is currently being given the medications.

Don't feel sorry for Paris. What she is experiencing should be a wake-up call for both her and her "Mommy."

Texas, I think he has always gotten away with it, so he thinks he can. Remember we would not have known anything of Mel Gibson's tirade if an officer had not snuck the info out. Then it was witch hunt time for the officer including search warrants on his home, but not much in regards to investigating his preferential treatment. It wouldn't surprise me if there was something more to the relationship between Baca and the Hiltons, but knowing the C.o.Scientology...they like to have you indebted to them. Then they call in favors later. It's all about recruits with money and power in numbers for the CoS. Odds are he/they/some other person from the Church would play into the idea that she is really ill then tell them about how they could cure her. It doesn't matter about whether it benefits the Hilton's in the future, the CoS would help them now then hope that would get them their foot in the door. The Hilton family's arrogance would probably play into this because they wouldn't realize they were being manipulated, not the other way around. I could be way of base, but that's how the CoS works. I agree though, he should totally be investigated and recalled if they can find more about special treatment. He was full of excuses and no real reasons in that press conference. Avoiding anything he didn't want to answer, or which could not be while maintaining the judge-is-a-jerk-poor-Paris routine.

If you look at the statute, it isn't true that "most people would've been out by now". Most people would've alreay been in jail - even in the states that sway more to the left wing. The fact of the matter is that reckless driving and DUI are very serious offenses...don't you remember when she left the scene of an accident? That's immediate jail and her crime went unpunished. The criminal justice system is meant to protect innocent people from those who knowingly and repeatedly commit crimes. She clearly thought she was above the law and that is because her dispicable parents never taught her the notion of values. What a disgrace they all are.

Bri @ 1220, I agree with you. She doesn't have a severe medical problem--she manipulated him and got away with it. If she had a severe problem, there would have been evidence of it before now. She is only crying and screaming because she hasn't gotten her way. Besides, I have never seen them release an inmate, even those who don't have a severe offense, for ANY health condition. A doctor sees them in the prison clinic or they have to do with the nurses. They won't even bring them to the hospital until the last possible minute. I am a health care worker at a hospital that often gets inmates---we had a guy suffer in prison for weeks from a GI bleed and they didn't bring him to the hospital for blood and treatment until he was at a 3.0 hemoglobin. We had a guy who had several suicide attempts and cut his own penis off with a smuggled razor and I never once heard a coherent sentence out of the man, but it took a few times before they even sent him to the mental ward of the jail. They just don't tend to treat ANY inmate as well as they are treating Paris Hilton. I also know DUI offenders who violated probation (my ex husband was one of them) and they all got over a year in jail--these people didn't even habitually offend as she did and got more time. Plus, it is not as if she would have obeyed the terms of her house arrest either since she has absolutely no respect for the law. So she does belong where she is at just as anyone else who does what she did does. And I am sure she is not the only one who cried in jail, but they would just tell regular people to buck it up and deal with it. This guy is showing blatant favoritism and it is either the result of her being very well at manipulating people or he got some sort of bribe.

And so what if she was going home to party, not like she would have been driving after drinking then, right? Even if she didn't have a monitor at that point, she would have stayed home, right? I mean, she listened so well every single other time those involved in the judicial system spoke to her, like when they told her not to drive and told her to disclose medical conditions and medications.
