Paris Hilton has a pet problem.
The Los Angeles Department of Animal Services visited the heiress' home earlier this week to investigate a complaint about her owning 17 dogs, TMZ.com reports.
By law, a non-breeder in L.A. is only allowed to own three dogs per address.
A Department of Animal Services spokesman said that Hilton - or her pets - were not home when they visited, according to TMZ.
The critically panned Hottie and the Nottie star, 27 — who has been in Las Vegas celebrating the launch of her Paris Hilton Collection — admitted she owned all the pooches on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday.
"I have 17 dogs — lots," she said. "They all sleep in my bed - well, not all of them, but I let some of them."
Hilton said she has so many dogs because "they keep having babies, and I feel bad about giving them away."
When DeGeneres asked Hilton why she didn't just get the dogs neutered, she said that they all now were "fixed," but later added, "well, two of them weren't."

If a poor (or just not super-rich) LA resident is in danger of getting busted for the "crime" of owning four dogs because of this inane law, then some waste-of-protein celebrity should get HOSED for going over that arbitrary limit. No free pass for the rich and infamous.
You wanna say that the law itself is absurd. I agree. As is the horrendous new law in LA that will require everyone to surgically mutilate every pet as a tiny puppy or kitten.
A normally competent person doesn't need to sterilize his or her animals to prevent them from "just having babies." A leash or a closed door works, too, if that's your choice. I've kept intact animals of both sexes for decades, and never had an unintentional litter.
But, you know, "normally competent person."

supposedly this retard was the subject of a blind vice on the awful truth - the story goes that her house help reported her to the authorities because she would put a dog in her closet, close them up in there, go out of town and forget about them - i.e. they would be left for days or weeks on end in the closet w/out food or water. The help would eventually find the dog(s) dead. Supposedly this is not a solitary instance and has happened on multiple occassions, therefore her help finally reported her to the authorities - which would be my guess as to why the LADAS is paying her a visit.

I have 8 dogs. And I take care of them, brush them, feed them, they go to the vet often for checkups and are all spayed/nuetered but 2 (which are both boys so they cannot reproduce) I don't want 17 though. Thats to many, but she has the money to care for them, and they look well cared for in the picture, so who cares.

Oh my gosh! If that's true about the maid finding dead dogs locked in closets then all of her pets should be confiscated. With all that money, she could easily hire someone to care for her pets. There's no excuse. It's like all these nimrod celebs who make millions who drive drunk. Hello, instead of spending $5,000 on a purse or something ridiculous that you don't need, spend the money on the services you really do need. Just because she has lots of money doesnt mean the animals aren't abused. Abuse isnt always physically hurting animals, it is neglect too. (like forgettng your cat at the vet??? Or have you seen her puppies shake when she takes them out with her and the papparazzi are around her??) Owning animals demands responsibility, like spaying or neutering her pets and not letting them breed. She may love all of her animals, but being rich does not hold her above the law the rest of us have to abide by.
