Pregnant Angelina Jolie hit the friendly skies Tuesday.
The actress, 32, piloted a private plane with son Maddox, 6, in an air field in Smithville, Texas (where beau Brad Pitt is shooting the drama Tree of Life).
Jolie, whose bump is growing, earned her pilot's license in 2004.
"If I could actually fly a plane by the time he's 4, I'll be like Superman to [Maddox]," she explained at the time.
But is it safe for a pregnant woman to be flying?
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that moms-to-be not fly after their 36th week of pregnancy. (Jolie is far away from the 36-week mark.)
This isn't the first daring venture the expecting actress has made.
Sporting a slight bump, she toured Central Baghdad as part of a refugee fact-finding mission in early February.

The only reason you're reading about this at all is because it's part of the image that Jolie crafts. She is one of the celebrities who consciously and astutely manipulates the press.

One great lady with a love for her kids and a heart of gold. The Jolie-Pitt's are of non comparable quality, they have the edge over the Hollywood lala couples ( and singles)
Angelina does what she enjoys the most, taking care of her kids, loving Brad and travel. A life made in heaven, especially where these adorable children are concerned.
By the way, all you folks who don't like the Jolie-Pitts, don't read the article, don't look at the pictures, don't post here. They have many fans without you.

Brad Pitt is who disgusts me, its not even angelina so much, she is who she is but he's completely fake. When has he EVER done anything for anybody else before meeting Jolie? Honestly, he tries to be just like her and personally, I think it makes him look like a phony. You're gonna sit there and give out advice like that to the world about how drugs are OK and people should be able to do them if they want, and then turn around and try and preach to us about global warming? I'm no expert on drugs but what does he think all the smoke and chemicals coming from drugs does to the environment?
Also, he made that comment about drugs in 2006. Not the smartest advice to give to the world especially when having 3 children who may somehow read about that later in life.

What happened to the those two famous "lovers" of 2004? Did they have to sign confidentiality agreements? Seriously, how much were they paid off to shut up? Why, in three years of coverage, do the tabloids not look into that?
And what exactly were Brad and Angelina doing in a hotel room together with Maddox, where they apparently let Maddox decide that Brad would be Dad (Vogue interview from 2006)? Why hasn't anyone asked that question? What were these two doing in a hotel room alone together, if they weren't a couple yet?
I think Brad is just a surrogate - either for Val Kilmer, who rejected her, or George Clooney.

If three years ago I said to all of you that this famous Star was going to get married, have two-three kids, would party wildly, get divorced and started doing drugs, 98% would have said CHRISTINA AGUILERA....No one would have thought to think that squeeky clean britteny spears would be that same star. YOu can use that thought with Angelina and Jen. I dont care much for the drama and rumor of hollywood, but I find it ridiculous that you have people definding the woman from one another. Sure JEn is the ALL american girl, and Angelina is the wild child, but she is not wholesome nor is she immuned to wild ways. Sure Angie is outspoken, crude at times but that's what makes her HER. I enjoy that about her, she doesn't put BULL SH** on anything. Brat Pitt couldnt get what he wanted from Jen and she obviously wasn't putting any effort in the relationship. SHe knew before hand thatshe was marrying an OLDER man who more than likely was going to want kids right then and there. Couldn't she relented an just had a child? It wouldnt have made a difference to her career, (whatever career that is. Honestly she's not an Alister to me). If she was afraid of having a child then she should have made that clear to him. He went looking for what he wanted to fullfill his life and he got it with Angie. Give her a break and stop this nonesense.

The only ones making an issue about the safety of her flying is US Weekly and Angelina's camp. US relates the story, and then Angelina's fans immediately start screaming hysterically that everyone is making a big deal out of nothing. But judging by the vast majority of the comments, no one really cares about her flying. Her fans are in their own world, creating an imaginary debate against imagined opponents of women's progress.
I am tired of her and her fans trying to portray her as some sort of brave, substantial woman. It's complete nonsense, and you do nothing for the progress of women when you hold up an individual like this as some sort of banner. Look, the real issue is and always has been that this woman completely lacks in character. That is why people look down on her.
