The person who said that they're Catholic and very religious should not treat the Bible as just a book, it is the living word of God. The Bible clearly states how God feels about homosexuality. You are right about marriage being a civil right, but God intended it for man and woman. There are many different and wonderful things that God created, you're right about that too, but not every thing that we consider wonderful is God's idea of wonderful. If you saw what he considered wonderful, all these posts in here would be like f;lkasjgdoajdf;ajf;jadf. LOL Anyway, I just thought I'd share that.

Ok, First of all I was raised Catholic, and have no problem with 2 people, whether man/woman, man/man, or woman/woman getting married. But even if I did, it is a mute point. Marriage is a civil right! You can get married in a church/temple or whatever your religion has a place of worship, but if you don't get a state license, it is not recognized by the state. So all these people who are claiming that it is a sin, and an abomination to God need to stop! I hate when people throw the Bible into everything that services their purposes and when it doesn't service their purpose, ignore it.
I do believe you have a right to what you feel or believe, but you should think about alot of other messages the Bible has. Just wanted to have my say.

I am catholic, and very religious. But, at the same point, I also understand that there is more to the world than the Bible. I understand some people believe different things. I also understand that only one can judge, and that is God. So, unless God is taking a time out so He can post an ignorant comment in here....SHUT UP! Homosexuality in the Bible had more to do with religious practice than marriage. Marriage was strictly procreative and it was assumed you would marry heterosexually so you would have kids (adoption was not common). Many temples had homosexual prostitutes in them and rituals calling for homosexual relations. Gay marriage is a fairly recent development and did not exist back then. The prohibition against homosexuality, therefore, had to do more with instruction about how thier religion was different from the pagan religions(like that of the Romans), not with marriage and children. Christianity was not the first religion to do this.

Homosexuals should be treated equally, they are human beings after all and pay taxes and work jobs just like straight people do. It is as simple as that...their sexual preference should NOT be an ISSUE!

oh I so have to interject here. My mother is a Minister and she does not go around saying that Homosexuality is a sin. Nor does it say in the bible point blank it is a sin.

As for Sodom and Gomorrah, God did not destroy that city and it's people because they were pancin' around same sexin' each other. They were destroyed because a stranger came into their midst and they were rude and inhospitial to the stranger and the were smote by God for not welcoming the stranger into their midst. Try reading a few theology books about the bible before you go lecturing on what the bible says or what you have been told. You will find out that what you read is not always the whole story or the correct story.

Also the bible has been translated so many time and is not entirely correct since it was originally written in Hebrew and other languages and some of those languages do not have the english equivalent word, so one was made for it, the word homosexual it did not come into existance till 1890-95...and the bible was written way before then. So tell me how the passages refering to homosexuals could be true statements when the word was not even around back then.

But believe in it if you want. But I agree with the person who said it, NO MAN/WOMAN has the RIGHT to tell another what he/she can or can't do and that includes who you marry.

Homosexuals are normal people just like straight people who want to live normal lives and have the same rights and they should. They pay taxes and work jobs just like straight people do. We have no right to discriminate against them with anything and that includes marriage.

Those of you who thinks homosexuals are sick and she not be allowed to marry, cause the bible says so are what we call racist, a bigot and need to take a good look at yourselves.

Honestly I think everyone needs to stop. I have always know that I liked the same sex. It really disturbs me that religion, church, bible and anyone that believes or set in their own ways. Should I say stubborn!!! It shouldn't matter if you are gay or straight but how you are as a person. I live my life to the fullest and with compasion. I except everyone in this world and I don't judge people just their thoughts. I try to figure out just what they are thinking in different situations. With all the hate in the world and not understanding the people you live with is causes wars and deaths. People are
becoming more open to changes but we still have a long way to go. We need to look beyond who is with who, what they look like, and all and look at the person, how they live and how they are as person.
